Prayer Request - 4/30 - 7:41pm
Dinah Border asks for prayer for her neighbor, Cade Mahan, who is 12 years old. He has 1st and 3rd degree burns on 30% of his upper body. They sent a helicopter out, but it's too windy, so they are transporting him by ambulance to Parkland Burn Center.

Kimberly Daniels posted this message today, regarding Payden's doctor visit at Children's Medical: "We just left the doctor's office. They did blood work (Payden didn't shed a tear. He was SUCH a big boy!) and they adjusted his medicine. They are referring us to Scottish Rite so they can look into any neuro-muscular issues he may have. Thanks for all the prayers & well wishes!!"
Our sweet sister, Eva Warren, passed away today at Pine Tree Assisted Living. She was the Mother of Fran Dobbs and Claudia Dawdy. Funeral services will be 10:00am Saturday, April 30, at the Church of Christ of Honey Grove, Texas. Burial will follow at Goree Cemetery in Goree, Texas. The family will receive friends from 9am to 10am at the church prior to services.
On a personal note: I go back to Dallas tomorrow, for more eye testing, and meet with another specialist. Thank you all for your continued prayers!

Kimberly Daniels will be taking Payden to Children's Medical/Dallas in the morning. Hoping to get some long awaited answers!
Mike Erwin was released from the hospital this afternoon.
Heath Figueroa was also released from the hospital.
Shane Boswell, who was injured in a fall, has been released from the hospital and is staying with his Mom and Dad here in Paris for a few months.
Lesa Bulls' cousin, Betty Brockington, has finished her treatments for cancer and now has the shingles.
Jerome Pipkins, employee at Justiss Elementary, has Hodgkin's Disease and has started chemo treatments.
Paula Welch, also an employee at Justiss Elementary, is having a mass removed from her liver and is having her gallbladder removed.
Margaret Lough was thrilled to announce that her Dad has been released from rehab and is at home!
Please keep all those that have been involved in all the tornados this week. As of this writing, 72 lives have been lost!

Alan Boyd had his foot surgery today and is doing well. His foot is FLAT! They were on their way home!
Charlotte Grooms' brothers are both ill. David Nelson has lung cancer and looking to start radiation treatment. Larry Nelson has blocked carotid arteries.

Mike Erwin was admitted to PRMC this afternoon. Linda sent this message tonight: "Mike has had an irregular heartbeat all day, saw Dr. Hashmi & he said to come to hospital to start blood thinners to prevent stroke & monitor him. Praying that his heart decides to convert to normal rhythm soon. Thanks for prayers."
Please keep the Maness/Cooper families in your prayers. Sammie Jo Maness passed away this afternoon. Coach Maness was a teacher/coach at Roxton I.S.D., had the most positive attitude and ALWAYS had a smile on her face! She touched many young lives for many years.

Weekly Update - 4/25 - 11:50am
Dorothy Pearce will have the "re-do" of her cornea transplant tomorrow in Dallas. She hopes to be home on Wednesday or Thursday. She'll have restrictions for 2 weeks. Please keep her (and Jerry) in prayer for good results and recovery.
My co-worker's husband, Jeff Taber, had surgery on Friday, to remove a tumor from his ear and to move nerves from his leg into his face, which was a 14 hour surgery! He's been released from the hospital in Dallas and his wife, Evie, stated that both surgeries went well and the tumor has been sent to pathologist for tests.
SIMPLE SUPPER: This weeks' entree will be Hot Ham & Cheese Sandwiches. If you didn't get the chance to sign up on Sunday morning, call the church office by noon on Tuesday to make your reservations. Remember....ONLY $2!

- Dr. Charles Sibert (professor from ACU): Cancer has returned.
- Local musician, Larry "T-Bone" Gordon, passed away suddenly last night. No other details are known at this time.
- Shane Boswell: He is still in ICU at Methodist Hospital/Dallas, after his fall over the weekend. He had bleeding in the brain and damage to his orbital and jaw bones. The bleeding has stopped, which is good news. He is scheduled to have surgery at noon today to repair the orbital bones. and possibly other repairs while he's "under".

Please keep 18 month old Tyler Reaves in your prayers. He was injured Saturday night in a freak accident at home. He was taken to Children's Medical/Dallas and placed in ICU. He was moved to a regular room today and should make a complete recovery. (Jared & Tiana are Tyler's parents.)

• Alan Boyd will have surgery on his foot, next Wednesday (4/27). Sherrie sent this message: "The orthopedic doctor is going to work with his tendons to pull his foot flat and straight, so he will not be walking on the side of his foot. It will be day surgery, if he doesn't have any complications." Isn't this amazing? God is working through doctors and nurses and bringing many blessings!
• Shane Boswell (son of Mike and Debbie) fell yesterday, on his head, and is in a Dallas hospital.
• Tammy Huffman has some family issues that she would like you to keep on your hearts.
• Continue to remember the Greer/Blount family as they are grieving the loss of Chase last week.
• Mierlan Payne has been having some back/hip problems.
• Kevin Wood's Dad, William, is having heart problems, and Stacie's Mom, Barbara Campbell, is in the hospital with pneumonia.
• Jerome Pipkins (Lindsay McCarter's co-worker @ Justiss Elementary) was diagnosed with Hodgkin's last week.
• Paula Welch (Kristy Anthony's Mom) is having tests done soon on a cyst found on her liver and needs gallbladder surgery.

• It was so good to see the whole Offutt family at worship today...although a sad occasion for them. Amber's step-mom, Suzanne Connerly, passed away this past week. Her services are tomorrow in Cooper.
• Carole Anderson's friend, Steve Cope, is having internal bleeding.
• Cynthia Williams received an answered prayer with a job in Princeton!!
Congratulations to Brad and Gwen Ann Shelton on the birth of their granddaughter, Callie Ann Hayes. She was born this past Wednesday and weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 20 inches long. Very proud parents are Sam & Julie Hayes.
Congratulations to Destiny Smith, PJC Lady Dragon basketball player! She made All Regional AND All Conference recently!

Thank you for the comments today, on my new "look"! (Although I do worry about YOUR sight now! haha!) The last surgery was to take a cataract off my "good" eye and it is healing really well! I go back on the 29th for more testing on the "bad" eye and discuss the next step. There is STILL hope and faith that I will receive MORE sight! MANY thanks to Kathy Daniels for keeping you updated over the last 2 weeks! God is SO good!
LTC participants, parents and coaches will be in Dallas this Friday and Saturday for competition. If you can help offset the cost of 2 meals, by bringing food items for them to take with them, it would be GREATLY appreciated! Please bring the items to Tanya's office or put them in the refrigerator and mark the sack "LTC". Please and thank you! Keep these folks in your prayers as they travel to and from Dallas and while they are there.

Mike Grigsby had a mini-stroke over the weekend and was air lifted to a hospital in Oklahoma City. He returned home Sunday evening. He is continuing to do PT. Lucy asked when I spoke with her, to please keep Mike and Kathy in your prayers as Kathy will be going to the back doctor tomorrow.

Doug Owens' mom, Cindy, is out of ICU and should be in regular room for about seven days. This was not her first bout with blood clots in her lungs. Amy Owens said they were going for Reed's first well visit and they are doing fine. Debra Usry requests prayers for the Bonnie Pomroy family. She passed away on Thursday. She is Ashton's great-grandmother. Debra also wanted to request prayers for her sister, Julie Kay Smith. She is in the hospital and had two procedures today. Her blood count is low and not sure why. Kim Hanley sent this message this morning: "Dustin & Jennifer Blount's son Chase died Thursday morning. They are like family to me and I'm asking for prayers to help them deal with this unexpected tragedy. Many people may remember them attending Lamar Avenue several years ago when Chase was in Jr. High. He was living in Needles, California at the time of his death. He leaves behind a wife and 2 small children." |

Tornado Season is here! On April 16 at 7pm, there will be a class offered at LACOC by the Texas Civil Defense 4th Division. This class will teach you how to get ready for a tornado; what to do, what to have ready, what kind of precautions you need to take, where is the best place to take shelter in your home, etc. (They will also have translation from English to Spanish.) Please feel free to invite others to come with you!

- Our sympathy goes to Connie Ausmus and her family. Her cousin, Lee McDonald, passed away last week.

PANTRY NEEDS: Cornbread Mix & Green Beans
Tornado Season is here! On April 16 at 7pm, there will be a class offered at LACOC by the Texas Civil Defense 4th Division. This class will teach you how to get ready for a tornado; what to do, what to have ready, what kind of precautions you need to take, where is the best place to take shelter in your home, etc. (They will also have translation from English to Spanish.) Please feel free to invite others to come with you!

Prayer Requests - 4/3 - 8:45pm
- Lance and Carrie Johnson...just lots of prayers.
- Freddie Biggers had a stroke last night. He's in PRMC/North/ICU. They are trying to dissolve the blood clot now. Freddie has worked at Discount Wheel & Tire for many years.
- Mark Arnold, attends the College Church of Christ, was admitted to PRMC/North this morning. They aren't sure what's going on with him yet.
- Thank you for all the prayers for my sister, Mary Gregory. The heart cath this morning showed no blockages! Her husband, Roy, is doing much better also.
- I will have my "good eye" surgery this Wednesday, April 6. I will be out of commission for a few days, so if you have any prayer requests, please e-mail/call Kathy Daniels at: kathy@thetshirtshoppeparis.com and 903-784-0557.

I talked with Rickey McFadden yesterday, he said that Wayne was "some" better. There will be a sign-up sheet on the Welcome Center tomorrow for men to continue to sit with him. The family appreciates your willingness to help!
