Services for Joyce Allen

Former member, Joyce Allen, passed away on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday July 1, at the Blossom Church of Christ with Lanny Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Knights of Honor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Friday from 6 until 7 p.m.

Services for Lexie Everett - 6/28

Our condolences to Jared Baggett and his family on the passing of his grandfather, Lexie Everett, on Monday. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7 pm at the Boles Church of Christ in Quinlan.

Update on Sandy Welch - 6/28

Jay Anthony just posted this update:  Enough please! Pray for Sandy. She will have a MRI this afternoon because the doctors saw something that concerned them. This Godly servant is absolutely the most unselfish and caring Christian example of steadfast faith that I've ever witnessed. She is love in action for Christ and not simply lip service. I'm proud to have her as my other Mom.

Prayer Request - 6/27

After having spine surgery earlier this year, Loretta Nabors continues to have problems.  Yesterday she had a myelogram (looking for a pinched nerve) at Texas Spine and Joint Hospital in Tyler yesterday morning.
She has completed the 24 hours of lying flat after the myelogram .  She hopes to hear from the doctor today. 
She says... "I am doing pretty good today. Have to take it easy the next 24 hours though. Caffeine is taking the headache away but I don't have much energy and I feel like I've been beat, but I'm praying by tomorrow I'll be back at it."

Update on Sandy Welch - 6/27

Sandy fell on Sunday and broke her hip.  She had surgery yesterday and did great, but as so many know she will face a road ahead of recovery. Sandy is Jay & Kristi's biggest help.  She is with Kristi most of the time and does so much for the family.  Please pray for her to rest and recover.

Benette Russell had surgery on her foot last Wednesday.  She is doing well but has to be off her feet for a long period of time.  Pray that her recovery time goes well and she doesn't try to get back to her routine too soon!!!

Sandy will have surgery on her left hip at 1PM, today.  Please keep saying prayers and good thoughts for Sandy.

Our brother, Carl Melton, passed away on Tuesday. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 10 am at Bright-Holland Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-7 pm at the funeral home.

• Kyle Jones' friend, Ray Hutchison (spouse of Kathy Hutchison) is recovering from open heart surgery.  He coded but was revived and needs prayers.
• Marka Bennett, Sherry Welch's sister, was headed on a trip to Israel yesterday morning.  During the flight she became very ill and in a lot  of pain.  She is now in the hospital in New Jersey and was told she would be there a week. Her husband, Norman, is with her.  Israel will have to wait!  She was very disappointed because she had looked so forward to this trip! Please pray for healing for her AND that she can recover quickly and get back home!

Our condolences to the Bollman family. Funeral Services will be on Thursday at 2 pm at the East Post Oak Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 1 pm before the funeral. The church is located East of Blossom on FM 1502 (same road as Bratcher's Nursery)

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who came out to Lake Crook for Church at the Lake, this past Wednesday night.  We had a great turnout....134!  We sang together, kids played, people visited with "one another" and memories were made!  Thank you Jared for the devotional thought!  A HUGE thank you to the Wednesday night men's class that prepared dinner for all of us!

YOUNG AT HEART DINNER AND A MOVIE:  There is a relaxed evening of fun planned for all you special YOUNG @ HEART.  You are invited to dinner and a movie at 6pm on Monday night.  Cost will be $3/per person.  Please sign up at the Welcome Center if you plan to join us.


COMMUNITY OUTREACH:  We are going to host another Foster Parents' Night Out at our building on Saturday, June 17th from 4:40-8:00PM, and we need a few babysitters.  This is a great way to show our local foster families how much we appreciate and support what they are doing by giving them a much needed break.  We did this a few months ago and it was a huge blessing for these families.  If you can help, please sign up at the Welcome Center.  (You have to have already had the required background check.)
