Debra Usry sent this message tonight:  "Charlotte Cannon had knee surgery this morning and will be in PRMC/Room 408 for a few days and then to rehab."

Our Sympathy...

Mike Grigsby sent this message tonight:  "My oldest brother, Patrick, has been in prison most of his adult life... but he has one son, Aaron (17).  Aaron's mother was killed in a car wreck last night.
Aaron is faithful to the LORD, is a good student and a great musician. He is now basically alone in the world.  Pray that God will dwell near him and fill him with peace beyond understanding."

After reading this message, I called to ask Mike about Aaron.  As he said, Aaron is on his own.  He's a junior in high school and has basic needs.  There's going to be a memorial service for his Mom on Friday morning, in Van, and Aaron needs clothes to wear and a pair of size 10 athletic shoes.  Basic needs.  Just breaks your heart.
If you can help, with clothes/shoes/gift cards for Aaron, please contact Mike or Kathy.

Update on Kristi Anthony - 4/30

Posted by Austin at 8pm:  "I need everyone to pray tonight, not just lightly, really pray for Mom.  It has been better since she has gotten home but taking my Mom to meet a stranger every morning who takes her to Pate is the hardest thing I've ever done. I've cried the last two mornings after I've dropped her off.  Just knowing that she spends her whole day without us or her friends literally makes me sick. Her depression is making her so sad and she isn't the same person, though she is in a lot of ways. So DO this tonight. Do not pray for any of us but Mom. We need prayers but SHE needs them more than ever right now. I feel like God wanted me to say that tonight. -Austin"

Posted by Jay at 8:30am:  "Kristi fell last night. She tried to get up to go to the restroom without waking me. She is ok but it scared me to death and it worried her that she upset me. She wants to walk so badly and her poor memory is very troubling to her. Pray for strength and healing...we STILL need your faithful prayers as we are not in the homestretch yet. God is in Control, Jay"

WELCOME HOME KRISTI !!

What a wonderful WELCOME HOME for Kristi today.
Lots of friends, family and strangers joined together to greet her with some Lamar County love!
Red balloons (for heart health), huge smiles, signs made by some of the cutest little children and tears were evident from all of those that were there!
We were witnessing answered prayers.
We were witnessing LOVE.
We were witnessing a community, who may not have known Kristi before, but they know her, and her family, now.
Friends have prayed for her, sent cards, prayed, called, prayed, visited, prayed, patted the back of one of her boys, prayed, gone to her house and gotten it ready for this day, prayed, fixed food, prayed, etc etc etc.
The important thing is ... we all PRAYED.
We've read the words of her husband, Jay, begging everyone to pray for his wife. He has shown the love that we are to have for our spouses...in sickness and in health.
We've read the words of her sons...who have matured beyond their years.  They've continued their lives, but they've been with their Mom every chance they possibly could.
We've watched her Mom, Sandy, show the love a mother has for her child.
We prayed for a miracle and we saw it happen today!
Posted by Austin at 8:30pm:  "One time in English we wrote a paper about the best day of our life. I couldn't think of what it was so I made up some story about how I went skydiving lol. Well I can honestly say when we drove down 79 me and mom both agreed it was the best day of our lives. It has been a long 6 months and we know we have a long road ahead still but today is a huge step. There is only One to thank today, not the doctors, nurses, me , my dad, no one but God. All this time we asked Him to bring her home then. Well today He showed me that His time is perfect, all the waiting just made today so much better! Please continue to pray for continued healing and thanks again everyone! Thank you God most importantly. -Austin"

Praise and Prayers for the Anthony Family - 4/26

Posted by Jay at 1:15pm:  "As I post this many thoughts and emotions are circulating in my mind and heart. First, I want to thank our mighty God for his intervention in Kristi's tragedy on November 16th and His continued work in her life. Next, all of the FAITHFUL people who have prayed, helped, and just loved Kristi and our family.
Today is the next step in Kristi's miracle...coming home. She and our entire family are so ready for this to happen, the day we've all prayed for and awaited. There are fears involved such as not having any medical professionals close by for the first time in almost six months! However, the Great Physician is present.
Why did this happen to our family? We don't know BUT we do know that HE has blessed many because of it. I for one, and our boys are MUCH DIFFERENT people than we would have ever been without this great trial. I have seen a spiritual maturity emerge in Austin, Tyler, and Cody that would have otherwise been impossible....
I have learned patience, which I would have never received otherwise. I have learned to love my wife in a way that I never did before. I have learned what true love really is and we all have learned not to take our loved ones for granted. I have been changed PERMANENTLY and so have our boys. Maybe you have been changed too?
We are not special in any way. But God often used simple, SINFUL, and plain people to work through in the Bible. As he has with our family.
Please continue to remember Kristi and our family because her rehabilitation, recovery, and healing is simply moving locations and has not stopped. We need your continual prayers. As for the end result? I have never doubted God's promise that Kristi would be healed in completion, fully restored even better than previously and that is both physically, mentally, and spiritually. I have FULL faith in Him!
Our God is an awesome God.
I want to give a special thank you to our three boys, Austin, Tyler, and Cody who have stood strong through this trial and endured much without complaining. Austin who has been my rock and his Mother's caretaker and biggest advocate. Tyler, whose smiling attitude has held the rest of our raw emotions in check and Cody, whose sweet spirit has reminded us of our love for each other. Most of all, the love of my life, Kristi who has had to endure so much but has provided our family with a road to everlasting love and a new faith in God. Sandy who has given so much without regard for her self.
To our Facebook friends and followers, we are forever in your debt. Remember...God is in Control! - Jay"

PRAISE UPDATE - KRISTI ANTHONY!

Posted by Austin at 6:50pm:  "The people at Pate Rehab have decided that it will be best for mom to come home and continue her therapy as an outpatient. She will live at home and go to therapy Monday through Friday at Pate. In order for this to happen they have to inspect the house to make sure the requirements for mom's needs are in place. They are coming to inspect the house on Thursday and there was no way me, my dad, my brothers and Bobby Gage were ever going to get it ready in time. So today, around 30 people from our church (Lamar Avenue Church of Christ), came out and did an amazing job on the house. They cleaned and rearranged the entire kitchen, broke up concrete, mowed, weedeated, mopped, cleaned bathrooms, windows and did so much more. We are so thankful for them because as of right now Mom will get to come home on Friday! Mom has not stayed the night at our house since November 15 and she is more than ready to come home. We are beyond grateful to have such amazing people in our lives to help make this happen. This day has been the best day our family has had since the day mom woke up from her coma. Thank you everyone! -Austin, Jay, Tyler, Cody, and most importantly Kristi"

Update on Kristi Anthony

Posted at 8:30 this morning by Austin:  "Last night I stayed with mom and for the first time since November 15, she woke me up. I know for me and probably a few more in the Anthony and Welch family that it's always easier to just try to forget about what we have been through because it's less painful that way. We went from being together at my last football game one night to sitting in a hospital waiting room the next. For me that shows whats really important. It's been a long road of pain and struggles for all of us. We have grown closer, then further away from each other. We have been faithful to God and then not even talked to Him. We have loved each other and then disliked each other. I have tried to avoid thinking about the situation because I thought that would be easier but it's not at all....Our mom and nana have to sit in a random rehab facility with complete strangers everyday of their lives and I selfishly try to act like nothings going on. We are all guilty of that in this family though at one time or another. That being said I love everyone in my family from my mom to my dad, brothers, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Please continue to pray for my mom everyday. Thanks -Austin"

Please remember this sweet family....they are so honest with us and share their feelings with us.  Good or bad.
We also have to remember these boys.  Austin is 18 and a senior, Tyler just turned 16 and Cody is 12.  They are kids who are missing their Mom!
Sweet Jay...he's missing his sweetheart...his best friend.

Thank you and all our brothers and sisters who have been praying for us during these very difficult weeks and months. God is GOOD...ALL the time! God bless you all!"

April McClour sent this message today:  "I need my Aunt Tina (lives in Stuart, FL) on the prayer list.  They called in hospice today."

Prayer Request - 4/2

Lucy Offutt sent this message tonight:  "I just took William to VisionQuest/Dallas today for drastic changes in his vision. The results are not very good. We expected something simple, but we got a preliminary diagnosis of ocular melanoma of the right eye that appears to be rapidly growing. He has to go back the the Retina Associates at 8:00 Friday am for further testing. They tried to get these done today, but the doctor who does this procedure was not in that office today."

Prayer Request

Please add Frankie Hawkins to your prayer list.  She has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has been given a few weeks to a few months to live.  She is Sabrina Day's aunt.  Sabrina is a close friend of Lindsay McCarter's and this family has suffered devastating loss in the past year already.
