Update on Marie Figgins
Russell Figgins called to say that Dr. Prakash had been in with his Mom and said that her type of cancer is aggressive. He said that her numbers have showed a big change over the last few days. They are going to keep her in the hospital, for a few days, on fluids and antibiotics to build her up. They will then start the chemo on Friday.
Please pray for Marie and for John and the family.

Update on Mike Grigsby - 5/28
Just received this message from Michelle Anderson: Went to see Mike...Dr says mild stroke. Mike is himself...ate lunch while we were there, talking, joking and giving the nurses a hard time! Left arm and leg are not working right now, but Dr told him rehab is next (don't know if in McKinney or home). Should regain use of arm and leg, but probably not complete use of foot...that would put him back to where he was before this stroke.
A reminder.....

Mike Grigsby had another stroke this afternoon around 2pm. He is being CareFlighted to Dallas now. The Dr. said it is not a brain bleed...but a stroke.
Praise and Thanks from Tom Wood
We received our marching orders last week.
On June 5th I'll have an enhanced CT scan to check for any spread of cancer and to get an idea of what effect the treatments have had.
The doc will review the results with us on June 10th.
I continue to feel good although a little short of breath sometimes.
Joanne and I appreciate so much your prayers and encouragement and everything you all are doing for us.
I am sure I understand a little how Paul felt when he wrote to the Philippians in 1:19-20
God Bless You,
Tom & Joanne

Update on Kristi Anthony - 5/26
Posted by Jay at 7:45pm: "I have an urgent plea for your help. If you have a suggestion or solution please message me; if not PLEASE PRAY for a solution.
I know that Facebook is really not an avenue meant to “spill your guts” but it has been a wonderful tool for us to connect with Godly people and express our needs for Kristi and the family and be covered with the prayers of God’s faithful servants.
Today is just such an occasion. Over four months ago, as Kristi was freshly off of a feeding tube and a trach she began walking and doing so very well at it too. She was blessed with the most professional AND caring PT, Kalli, the greatest OT, Beth, and an unbelievable ST, Lindsey there at Zale Lipshy they were truly all the best in their fields. We knew that God had brought Kristi to Zale to begin her rehab and recovery process and it was overwhelmingly evident to everyone involved.
Now we are at a standstill and backing up even. Kristi has acquired a tremendous fear of walking. Many days she absolutely cannot make herself take a step no matter how hard she tries nor how much we help or encourage her. We don’t know if this is normal for a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or not. We don’t know and haven’t received any answers. We do know that her current PT is frustrated and has become very negative about the situation. I know that I am Kristi’s advocate but I have talked with so many and just don’t know what to do next.
Kristi’s brother, Matt is trying so hard now to help get her over the fears as are Sandy, Austin, Tyler, Cody, and I. Kristi knows that she should be able to walk even though she forgets if she has walked or not recently. We all try to remain strong and rely on God’s timing (and He will pull Kristi through) but the process is devastatingly difficult. We are all worn out and emotionally torn up, especially Kristi.
My plea is to anyone who has expertise or experience in this type of injury or the rehabilitation process. Please give us some wisdom for what we should do. If you k now someone who has been here and would be willing to help please get us in touch with each other. You can message me or call me anytime. If you don’t have experience or know anyone then please PRAY for a solution. Kristi needs your help…PLEASE. - Jay"

Update - Kristi Anthony - 5/22
Posted by Jay at 9:50pm: "I remember during the time when Kristi was in a coma that all of you prayed for SPECIFIC requests and I haven't been good about asking you recently to pray for her specific needs. A very strong Christian was talking with me today about Kristi's current situation and she said that we needed to pray specifically for "the renewing of Kristi's mind".
I realized that this is exactly what Kristi needs right now. She is struggling so much with trying to walk and this vital element of her recovery has digressed since she has been at Pate. We were blessed with the very best therapists at Zale Liphsy and Kristi made tremendous strides there. Now, mostly due to her memory problems she doesn't feel up to participating in PT many days. Her ST and OT still continue to progress forward but she needs prayers for her PT.
Please pray that her PT and Tech's will become creative in their methods and that they will gain great PATIENCE with Kristi. This seems to be a real issue right now as her PT has said that she is "worn out" after working with Kristi. All of you who know Kristi know that she is a very accommodating and selfless person. Her lack of desire to participate is due to her traumatic brain injury and NOT her personality but she is also struggling with a tremendous amount of fatigue. She has 12 hour days of intensive therapy and commuting.
Kristi needs your SPECIFIC prayers for God to renew her mind and for a loving, caring, patient attitude from her Physical Therapists. It's difficult on these professionals as they are used to faster progess from most patients, but Kristi's injury is a TBI which requires more time. God will heal her completely and He is in Control. I can understand why her therapists are tired, it's an exhausting process and we all need STRENGTH daily. No one is expected to be super human, we need God's help...we all do. - Jay"

Update on Kristi Anthony - 5/13
Posted by Austin tonight: "People always say "In God's time", well God told us He will heal our Mom but time is man made. Whether He heals her tomorrow or in 10 years it is the same to Him. He did create night and day, but to God there is no time. That's almost impossible to grasp but it's the truth. So just because He doesn't do something in our time doesn't mean He won't do it. -Austin"

- Charlotte Cannon has been moved to PRMC/316 for rehab.
Update on Kristi Anthony - 5/8
Posted by Jay this morning: "Even though Kristi is an outpatient now (and we are so happy that she is home at night) she continues to need your prayers for God's complete healing. This adjustment has been good for her but it is very difficult too. Her day is comprised of 3 hours traveling in a van and 8 hours of intensive therapy. She begins each day before 6 am and gets home around 6 pm.
Each day Austin wakes early and takes his Mom around 6:30 to meet the van. He has been so faithful, protective, and caring for his Mom. Please pray for Austin's strength. It is wearing on him and I can see how tired and stressed that he has become. Sandy is helping care for the boys and the house not to mention her tireless care for Kristi. Austin, Tyler, and Cody continue to have to deal with medication and diet while we wait on Kristi's test results. The stress of the unknown is tiresome. Please pray for GOOD and RAPID test results.
We begin each day and end each day thanking God for ALL that HE has already done for Kristi and our family (and live praying without ceasing) . We know that His end result will be Kristi's healing for His glorification! We are praising Him in this storm but I assure you that it is a STORM. We are just humans that err daily and we know that He is perfecting His work in Kristi's life even though we get in the way so often.
Our request is for prayers for Kristi's short term memory, her strength and lack of fear in learning to walk, strength and endurance for Austin, good health and test results for Austin, Tyler, and Cody, strength and health for Sandy, and a Christ-like spirit for us all, especially me. I know that you all are faithful to pray for us without fail and that is what comforts me in asking you for so much. God is in Control - Jay"

Update on Kristi Anthony - 5/2
Posted by Jay this morning: 2 Cor 12:8-10 "...So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That's why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffered for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong." AND 2 Cor 10:15 "Nor do we boast and claim credit for the work someone else has done."
"The devil loves it when we challenge the integrity of God's ways, plans, or purpose. When we demand a way the seems better for us we are removing the blessing that God has in store for us. We are foolish to tell God to do it another way. What right does the clay have to question the potter?
Furthermore, what right do we have to take credit for something that God has done? What about taking credit for something virtuous or spiritual that is evident in our life? That would be foolishness because that virtue or spiritual "fruit" is OF God and not ourselves.
I only know this because I spent most of my life trying to be strong and do things my way. Believe me when I say this ended very badly for me and others. Through this I have had to trust God alone because it was way bigger than my ability to control or even understand. He has been faithful and He has received the glory. He alone is GOOD.
I am weak, Kristi is weak, our boys are weak, and Sandy is weak BUT He is strong! God is in Control and I thank him for sending one of you each day to be His messenger in our life. - Jay"
