Update on Kristi Anthony - 8/29

Posted by Jay tonight:  "Yesterday was a difficult day and night for Kristi but I really believe that her mind is trying so hard to file everything back in correct order. She is again asking a lot of questions and she knows the answers already...confirmation, I think.
She is struggling with Austin's absence even though she knows that he is ...where he should be...she told her ST today that Austin had a great opportunity before him. This feels like a good thing that is happening but it is very emotionally challenging for her and us all. Her therapy team is working so hard for Kristi and the neuro-feedback seems to be very promising. Her neuropsychologist, Dr. Armstrong calls me every week to check on her progress. Kristi's friend, Danny an occupational therapist is continually giving us advice, doing research and helping with her therapy just because she cares. What a great team of GODLY professionals that He has provided! We have been blessed and YOUR prayers continue!!!
Pray for Kristi's recovery and her struggles with memory and walking. I would like to ask that you pray for the emotional stress that Austin, Tyler, and Cody deal with daily. Tyler and Cody are really helping Kristi with so many things. Sandy needs rest so badly, and I would appreciate your prayers for some sleep. However, things are so much better and we have been so blessed by God and all of the people that He puts in our life EVERY DAY - To God be ALL of the Glory for this - Jay"

Our Sympathy...

Derald Bulls just sent this message:  "I regret to share sad news, but I just hung up with Tuesday and Chuck has ended his struggle just a few minutes ago....with Tuesday laying by his side holding his hand.  She is an amazing young lady and I'd ask that you send her cards of your memories of Chuck along with your condolences.  There are no more details at this time except we lost another great friend and classmate.  But, we rejoice that he suffers no more and is home with God."

Please remember his brothers Dan and John and the entire Braziel family in your prayers.

Update on Chuck Brazile - 8/27

Derald Bulls sent this message:  "I just received a text from Tuesday (Chuck’s step daughter) and she said that if all goes as planned, Chuck will come to her home in Fort Worth as early as this evening. Tuesday didn’t mention hospice but I’m sure there is a plan to keep his pain under control. Some of you are unaware of Chuck’s health condition, in a nutshell is very grim; his heart (aorta) is enlarged and his kidneys have failed along with cancer being discovered in several areas recently. I would ask that whether you were close to Chuck or not, please take a moment to reach out to him. He’s in Medical Plaza Hospital, Fort Worth, as of now but will be dismissed, baring any unforeseen issues, today/tonight."

Shut-In Care Packages

I received this message from Carole Anderson:

The Faires/Anderson life group has a new project.  We are creating/assembling gift bags for members who are sick or hospitalized and shut-in's.  We are decorating bags, filling them with simple items and attaching a card to each so a message from the congregation can be included by the person delivering the bag.
We are hoping others will help with this project in the decorating, stuffing, and donating items to go in the bags.
The bags will be available in the church office and must be signed out through Kim or Laura.  (We are doing it this way so one person that might be in the hospital won't receive all the gift bags in case there are multiple visitors to them during their hospital stay.  If several people went to see the same person and they all got a gift bag, we would run out quickly.)  This will also help us keep count on the inventory of bags.
I am placing a laundry basket on the table by the ladies bulletin board for any donations that anyone want to donate to the gift bag creation.
We need  things like:
  • Bottled Water
  • The little packets of water flavoring that is pre-measured (usually about 10 tubes in a box).  (Regular and sugar free type.)
  • Small snack size packages of crackers, cookies, chips, etc.
  • Rolls of lifesavers, mints, gum, etc.  (Regular and sugar free type.)
  • Bite size candy bars
  • Ballpoint pens, inexpensive mechanical pencils
  • Small note pads
  • Small reading material, books, magazines, "soup for the soul", small puzzle books
  • "Hotel" size bottles of body lotion
  • Encouragement cards
  • Small handmade items to brighten someones day.
  • Pretty ribbons, bows, flowers, etc. to decorate bags.
  • Small plain gift bags, or one that is brightly decorated without birthday, holiday writing on it.
  • Or even donations to buy any of the above (give to Doug or Lewis)
  • Anything in small sizes that can fit in a small gift bag and be used by someone not able to get to the store.

Prayer Request - 8/19

Chuck Brazile's daughter, Tuesday, had 2 seizures, on Saturday afternoon, in a 12 hour span and is in another hospital in Ft. Worth.

Care Package Project Update

The next time they will be working on the care packages will be Sept. 15th at 1pm, in the old kitchen.

Update on Wanda McFadden - 8/9

Wanda McFadden has been released from the hospital today!

Thursday, August 8, 2013

A letter from Andy Garner....

Dear church family:

I am considering changing the age group of our Children's Worship.  I believe it would be most effective if the two year olds attended their own class instead of the current Children's Worship.  Adding an alternative class will create a need for additional teachers for the two year olds during the Children's Worship time period.  There is currently curriculum available for this age group which will make it an easy transition if teachers are available.

I am trying to gauge the interest in who would be willing to teach during this time period.  I would like to have a rotation and staff two teachers at a time.  This would mean that those who teach will have one Sunday every other month.

I do not want to raid the Children's Worship volunteers for this program.  WE ARE LOOKING FOR THOSE WHO MAY NOT BE TEACHING OR HAVE NOT TAUGHT IN A WHILE.  There is no timetable set in place for this to happen, but the sooner the better.

Please contact Andy Garner if you are interested at andylacoc@gmail.com or call the church office (903) 785-0387.

Thanks,
Andy Garner

Update on Kristi Anthony - 8/4

Posted by Jay at 2pm:  We truly need your help in praying for a need for our family. Most of you have been on this long journey with us since the very beginning about 8 months ago. So you’ve seen us at our worst and weakest moments in life. I believe with all of my heart that God can do anything, anyway, at any time that He desires. For some reason through this whole ordeal He has chosen to use the prayers of a multitude of believers in unison to perform His work in Kristi’s healing and recovery going back to last November when He saved her from an almost certain death.
Since I know that He hears the shouts of His people as we ask for these needs as one people I have decided to become totally transparent and write my otherwise private prayer to God right here so that each of you who are led to pray for this will know exactly what our requests include. Thank you for continuing to faithfully intercede in Kristi’s behalf!
“My Loving Father, first please protect Austin as he travels to the mission field of Honduras and keep the
entire team safe and ready the harvest and use these workers to bring the lost to Christ. Next you know Father as I left Austin in your care early this morning I drove away alone thinking of how difficult it will be in two weeks when he leaves for college. It would be difficult under normal circumstances but with what has happened it seems unbearable. Father you know that Austin loves his Mom and has faithfully stuck by her and he so wants her to be able to know what is going on when he leaves for college. You also know that I need Kristi as well for strength to get through this time as she is my help mate, best friend, and encouragement. Austin needs Kristi now as he leaves home, I need her now as Austin leaves, Tyler and Cody need their Mom now as their big brother leaves and as another school year starts. I am pleading with you Lord and I certainly know that Your timing is perfect and that I cannot see your future plans clearly but I know that they include healing Kristi and that Your plans for us are for good. What I am pleading for Father is something immediate, I am asking that you would heal Kristi’s mind right now Father that you would allow her to know what is happening in the present and be able to remember it and deal with it as a Mother would deal with this giant change in a family’s life. Father we need her now. Please answer our pray, quickly Father but YOUR will not ours be done. In Your precious Son’s name Amen.”I sincerely thank you all - Jay
