Weekly Update - 7/19

Patrick's message this morning was "The Discipline of Silence", with the text taken from James 3:2-12.
We need silence AND solitude in our life.
If we can control our tongue, there is nothing in our life that we will not be able to control.
We need to remember that one of the fruits of the Spirit is self-control.
He stated that we need to simplicity of words, for a time, and to silence our ears.
Our challenge for this week is to stand before God in silence during our daily walk.

OUR SYMPATHY:  

• Anna Zant's Mom, Christine Mashburn passed away this afternoon.  No details at this time.
• Lucy Offutt's sister, Hallie Rollins passed away recently.

PRAYERS:

• Shelia Icenhower - health
• Webber Woodall - was in Walnut Hill Medical this week.  The electrophysiology test proved to be a success.  They inserted a recorder into his chest also.  This will record the "episodes" that he's been having.
• Mike Kennedy - had an artery in his neck cleared this week.;  He's home and doing well.
• Elton Weeks - had a pacemaker inserted last week.  He's sore and bruised, but doing well.
• Mindy Younger - health
• Lilla Buchanan - health
• Kimberly Daniels - kidney stones
• Donna Moseley - will have an iron infusion this week.
• Kristi Anthony - prayers for physical and mental health.
• Lance Johnson - ALS
• Adrian Casey - cancer
• Roxanne Raper asked for prayers for her nephew Wade Wright's wife, Lezlie.  She has a abscess on her spine.
• Peggy Jack's daughter, Jeanne Kraft, is on vacation and has shattered her elbow.  They've already performed surgery on her.
• Ora Henderson asked for prayers for her relatives.  Freda's arteries in her leg had been blocked, they've opened them up.  Also Carl Johnson is losing his eyesight.

PANTRY NEEDS:  Toothpaste and toothbrushes and soup with meat.

MAGI PROJECT:  We have the opportunity to help with The Magi Project.  There are boxes that we can take and fill with items on a list that are all made available in the foyer.  This is to help the children overseas.  Boxes are due back on August 9th.  If you have any questions talk with Linda Erwin.
