Weekly Update - 10/18

“Is your heart right, as my heart is with yours?”
Jehu needed someone who was just as passionate about God as Baal worshipers were passionate about Baal.

Could it be that God may just be using us as his children to be salt and light to influence those around us to come and seek His face??

Jehu is asking us, “Is your heart right?”

Can you imagine your family keeping your instruction 250 years after you’ve gone on to be with the Lord?  Jonadab’s family learned to be faithful to God even during perilous times.

SYMPATHY:  
Doug Cato's sister, Dawn's 10 week old granddaughter, Cadun Jax Stephens, passed away last Sunday.  Her funeral service was held this afternoon.  Cody and Ashley Stephens are her parents.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

• Daisy Redding was in Dallas on Friday to have her heart put back in rhythm.  They'd already put her IV in and did an EKG...only to find out that her heart had put itself back into rhythm.
• Webber Woodall - Neurologist has found a tumor in his brain.  Won't know anything else until the next doctor appointment this Thursday.
• Cheryl Bullard - Health
• Butch Mills - Health
• Grayson Gage - Has been in the hospital, here in Paris and at Children's/Dallas, this week.  He had a bad reaction to the meds he's been taking for his shoulder. He'll be seeing an pediatric orthopedic surgeon.
• Tim Keele - As he heals physically and emotionally.
• Ruth Ann Stallings - shoulder is still giving her problems.
• Jimmy Faulkner - will have to have heart by-pass surgery again.  They meet with a surgeon in Dallas on Oct 20th for evaluation and date of surgery.
• Robert Wilson - back pain
• Harley and Lucy Staley - Health
• Lance Johnson - ALS
• Kristie Anthony - Physical and mental health
• Ann Huffman - please continue prayers for her sight.
• Tom Jackson, grandfather of Katie Shields-Fonville's husband, has internal bleeding.  They ask for prayers for this to stop.
• Gerald Henderson, Ora Henderson's son, is doing much better.
• Carol McMillan (Molly's niece) - Cancer.  She is at home with hospice.
• Missionaries all over the world.
• Law enforcement and first responders - their safety.
• Troops - their safety.

FAMILY RETREAT:  We are looking for someone to coordinate our Annual Family Retreat.  Please be in prayer about this and let the church office know if you can help in this area.
Mark your calendars to come and participate in our annual Family Retreat.  It is always a fun time to be together with church family and get to know one another better.  If you can't come for the weekend then just come up for the day on Saturday.  It is a wonderful time to get away and be with church family. More info coming SOON!  Just make plans now!

TRUNK OR TREAT:  There is still a need for 6 trunks for TorT...please sign up at the welcome center, or if you have any questions talk with Kathy Daniels and Sheridie Dyess.  LACOC provides the candy.

WEDDING SHOWER:  There will be a wedding shower for Shawna Simpson-Poole on Sunday November 8th at the building.  1:30-3:30pm.

SIMPLE SUPPER:  This weeks' entrée is Taco Soup.  Please donate $3 per person.  If you didn't get the chance to sign-up this morning, call the church office by noon on Tuesday.
