Weekly Update - 11/15

Thank you Patrick for our lesson this morning titled "Jesus’ Prayer for Unity", with the text from John 17.
    This is a triumphant prayer.
John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
When Jesus comes to chapter 17 in prayer, he is coming in confidence, He is coming into prayer acknowledging that He is an over comer.  He is also expressing His confidence in the Father.
Jesus comes to a place where he asks 5 things of the Father for us, and I want to give them to you today.
    1. He prays that you and I as the church will sense the glory of God.
Jesus is asking the Father that those in the church will sense, and feel, and experience, and know His glory.
    2. Jesus prayed that we would not only sense the presence of God, but that we would follow the Word of God.  When the disciples received the word of God it gave them a
    *meaning for life.
    *motivation for life.
    *mission for life.

    3. Jesus prayed that we would become united in the love of God.
    4. Jesus prayed that the church would begin to move toward the mission of the Father.
    5. Jesus prayed that we would experience the joy of God.

Weekly Update - 11/2

Thank you Patrick for the lesson Sunday morning "On the Road with Jesus", with the text taken from Mark, chapters 8-10. Jesus gives them 2 "test" questions.
  1. Mark 8:27:  Who do people say I am?
  2. Mark 8:29:  Who do you say I am?
YOU need to know who Jesus is to you!  JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD!
Jesus wanted to open their eyes to make them see....that's what chapter 8-10 is about.
~~Where are the blind spots?
~~Where do we need help?
~~Have you asked HIM to open the eyes of your heart?
We may have tough questions and fears....Jesus says I'VE GOT THIS!
Praise God that HE's still molding us to be the people we NEED to be!
God wants us to follow HIM on the road of faith and obedience.
