Weekly Update - 9/4

PRAYER REQUESTS:
Betsy Mills:  Had a heart cath this past week.
Dorothy Pearce:  Had eye surgery this past week.
Sherrie Boyd:  Met with specialists regarding pulmonary hypertension.
Alby Gail Clark:  Recovering from surgery.
Sherry Welch:  Recovering from cancer surgery.
Julie Rook:  Taking cancer treatments.
Webber Woodall:  Will be seeing a surgeon in Dallas on Sept. 14th.
John Figgins:  Taking cancer treatments.
Kristi Anthony:  Prayers for her mental and physical health.
Lance Johnson:  ALS
Kenneth Grooms:  Charlotte Grooms husband.  Has been in the hospital.
Carolyn, Daisy Redding's sister, lives in Missouri. This past week she broke her ankle and sprained her other ankle. Daisy is there with her.
Tommy Gantt:  Had cancer surgery this past week.  They removed one of his lungs and part of his ribs.
Jason and Erica Vickers: Their daughter was born this week with many serious health issues.  They have decided not to do surgery.  She has been released from the hospital and sent home with hospice.
Willard Brockinton:  Lesa Bulls’ dad is having many health issues.
Sandra Graves:  Friend of Lesa Bulls.  She has liver cancer and it has gone into her bones.

LIFE GROUPSMany of our groups took a summer break and met for the first time today. Most groups meet every 1st and 3rd Sunday for a meal, fellowship, devotional time, and/or service projects in the community. If you are not a part of any Life Group please see Doug Faires. Life Group Leaders, please let the office know when you meet and how many attend each time. Thank you!

MEN’S BREAKFAST—Will begin again THIS Tuesday, September 6th at 7AM. Please sign up today or call the church office no later than Monday, Sept. 5th if you plan to come. We need a head count to plan for the meal.

SIMPLE SUPPERSwill be starting again THIS Wednesday, September 7th. We have some pretty awesome teams that head up each week. If you enjoy cooking with a team and serving with a smile then we can use you! One of our teams is looking for a new leader to take charge. If you are interested in helping in any way, please see Kyle Jones.

DIVORCE CAREa weekly divorce support group will begin meeting on Monday, Sept. 12th @ 7PM @ LACOC. Find help. Discover hope. Experience healing. Please spread the word to the community that this class is being offered.

GOSPEL MEETINGThe Pattonville Church of Christ will be hosting a gospel meeting and fellowship on Saturday, Sept. 17th @ 9:00AM. The speaker will be Brother Elangwe Gregory from Wotutu, Cameroon. He is the minister of the Wotutu Church of Christ and director of the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Cameroon- Wotutu. He will share a message from the Word and then share a message about his work. FAITHFUL READERSthe next meeting will be on September, 11th. You have plenty of time to read the book, All the Way Home, by Ann Tatlock. Linda Vickers will lead the discussion. Everyone is welcome to join!

LADIES BIBLE CLASSBegins THIS Wednesday, September 7, at 10 o'clock. Our study it's called Living Beyond Yourself. We will be studying the book of Galatians centering on the Fruit of the Spirit. We will have a pot luck salad luncheon and all ladies are invited.
PANTRY NEEDS:  Soup and shampoo

RAINBOW ROOM ITEMS:  Shoes of all sizes and backpacks
SIMPLE SUPPER:  This weeks’ entrée is Tater Tot Casserole.  Please donate $3/per person.
