Update on Sarah Smith - 1/30

Sarah has been released from the hospital and is at home!!!

Nicki Beeler's Dad, Ben E. Blitch, 87, of Cleburne, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28th.  His funeral will be at 1:00pm, Wednesday, Feb. 1, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow at 3:00pm, Wednesday, in Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be at 12:30pm, Wednesday, prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Foster’s Home for Children, P.O. Box 978, Stephenville, TX 76401.
Please keep their family in your prayers during this time and for safe travels.

Sarah Goree, one of our shut- ins, had emergency surgery at Baylor to remove a blockage in her leg. The surgery went well but she will stay at Baylor through the week, before returning to Paris.

  • Perry Sansing - Is in ICU in an Austin hospital, due to complications from diabetes. (Lewis and Carole Anderson's nephew).

  • Sierra Faulkner - 2 year old with inoperable brain tumor. (Friend of Molly's)
  • Tammy Huffman-Beazley (former member) has been diagnosed with cancer has started treatments.
  • Ross Floyd, step-son of Kathy Roden Floyd and son of Randy. At UTSWMC in ICU in serious condition.
  • Debbie Daniel (friend of Molly's) - Cancer
  • Kendall Hattenville from Roxton.  He has a hereditary kidney condition and continues to be in serious condition at UTSW/Dallas.

SHUT-INS AND NURSING HOMES: 
Butch Mills, Johnny Bassett, Carol Murphy, Roy Jones, Paul and Carol Helton, Carl Melton, Joel Casey and Louise Peace.
YOUNG AT HEART:  We will have a potluck meal together on Saturday, Feb 25th, here at LACOC at 5:30pm.  Bring your favorite dish to share, favorite game and invite a friend.  After the meal we will fellowship together and play games of your choice.  Get ready for an evening of FUN!

DIVORCE
CARE SUPPORT:  A new class will begin on Monday, Jan 23, at 7pm at LACOC, in Room 17 near the OutReach Kitchen.  The group will meet weekly through May 15th.  Facilitators for this are Daisy Redding and Keith Bollman.  Class is open to the community.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:
  • Paris Pregnancy Care Center has several opportunities: volunteer, be a prayer partner, donate baby & maternity items, donate funds, serve, be a church liaison. For more information, please see brochure at the Welcome Center.
  • Children's Advocacy Center is hosting a Sweetheart Soiree fundraiser on Sat. Feb. 11th. There are several ways that they could use our help leading up to and following that event. If you can volunteer, there is a sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center with more information.
  • CPS Support - As part of our ongoing efforts to partner with CPS to support foster families in our area, we are planning to host a Foster Parents Night Out on Fri. Feb 24th, at our building from 6:15pm until 9pm. If you can help babysit for this event, please sign up at the Welcome Center.  You will need to complete a Background Check Authorization form.

Teresa was dismissed yesterday from hospital. She's home with antibiotics and will follow up with her doctor next week. She asks that we please pray pneumonia is breaking up or gone by then!

Update on Sarah Smith - 1/27

Sarah Smith was admitted to PRMC last night with a possible virus. She will probably get to go home tomorrow.  She is eating lunch right now and so far so good!  She is in room 368.

The public was invited to attend and have conversations with our Paris Police Department officers, yesterday morning.

Roxanne was released from the hospital on Wednesday.  She will eventually have to have surgery, but she did NOT have it this week.

Update on Kanyon Phillips - 1/26

Gay Spencer just sent this update: "Kanyon is much better. The have taken the tube out and are letting him drink and even try some animal crackers. He has done good so far and we expect him to keep doing good. We are so thankful for all of the prayers sent up in his behalf."

DON'T FORGET....

We will be having our 5th Sunday fellowship after morning services this coming Sunday. If you didn't get a chance to sign up for the meal, please let someone in the office know and we will add you to the list. The meal is Chicken Cordon Bleu and the cost is $4 per plate.

Services for Lee Campbell

Amber Beyleryan's step- dad, Lee Campbell, Lee Campbell, 69, of Paris, passed away at his home on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, following a lengthy illness. Cremation is under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. Following Lee’s instructions, a formal service will not be scheduled. Lee, the son of the late James Wallace & Dorthea Bates Campbell.  He owned and operated Campbell’s Transmission in Reno.

Jill Faires' grandmother, Virginia Delle Whittington Cammack, age 105, a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas went to be with her Lord on January 23, 2017 at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. Visitation will be held 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Friday, January 27, 2017 at Moore's Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday at Farmington Church of Christ. Interment will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery at a later time. Memorials may be made to Farmington Church of Christ Building Fund, P.O. Box 358, Farmington, Arkansas 72730, Gospel Tracts International, 2129 North Center Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701 or Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 Longview, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701.
Mrs. Cammack was a very talented artist. One of her paintings had a prominent place in the White House, during the Clinton era.

Lee Campbell passed away yesterday evening.  He was the step-dad to Amber Beyleryan and son of the late Dot Campbell.
No other details are known at this time.

BAPTISM:  Margie Champion was baptized last Sunday.  She has been a part of the Grief Recovery class and has been attending LACOC for some time.  Margie is going to be a huge asset to LACOC.  Introduce yourself to her....she's a hugger!

Update on Jay Cannon 1/20

Laura posted this update this evening:  "Jay is feeling so much better! He's almost recovered from his gallbladder surgery. We went back to Dallas today. The doctor said he should stay on a full liquid diet (disappointing) but he can stop the TPN (liquid nutrition) and IV antibiotics, which will allow him more freedom! There are still 2 chest tubes that will slowly come out a little bit each week for the next 3 weeks. Over all, still slowly improving! We continue to praise God for His mercy and grace!!  And thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers!!"

Jay and Gay Spencer's grandson, Kanyon, was flown in to a hospital in Seattle, Washington, for surgery, last night.
Kanyon has a bacterial brain infection and drain tubes were being inserted.

Update on Dorothy Pearce 1/17

Dorothy Pearce had a cornea transplant done today in Dallas.  She came through the surgery fine. Her sister Peggy Dotson is with her. They will spend the night there and go back for a check up around noon tomorrow.  Doctor felt positive about the results.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST 1/17

Debra Gage's great nephew, Michael Upchurch, had an accident this afternoon & jumped the guard rail & went into the Red River.  He is on his way to a trauma center in Plano by care flight.  He is 38 years old.

Prayer Requests - 1/17

Please keep Glen and Joy Barnett's grandson, Tyler McClour, in your prayers.  He left Monday at noon for Army basic followed by AIT. He will be stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga. She said "So proud of him but still want him to be a little boy. Please put him and all our military in your prayers."

Update on Jay Cannon 1/14

Laura posted this update on Jay:
"Welllll, we ended up in the ER last night. Stayed the night at PRMC. It turns out that Jay's gallbladder is "sick" and needs to come out. Eating the food triggered pain and nausea. GOING INTO SURGERY NOW. He feels confident that this was the underlying problem that caused the initial event. God has been with us through it all and will not let us down now!!"

Update on Jay Cannon 1/13

"Everything is going well. Making slow progress and feeling better. Jay has graduated to a full liquid diet (milkshakes and soup!) They still have him on TPN (liquid nutrition) for at least another week. Chest tubes staying in for awhile longer. He is the most pleasant, compliant patient I have ever seen!! We all thank you for your continued prayers! We can feel God at work!! And Praise Him for His continued blessings!"

Derald Bulls friend, Tony Clark said that he wants to extend his thanks for the prayers he has received in recent days. He wanted to report that his kidney function numbers have gone from 16% UP to 21%, for which he is giving praise!  Please keep praying those numbers head north!!!

AREA WIDE WORSHIP:  It’s always good to get together with friends and family from other congregations in town. College Church of Christ will be hosting our Annual Area-Wide Worship Service this year and has invited us to join them on Sunday, January 15th @ 5:00PM to worship together as one body. Speaker will be Brandon Watson, who will bring a lesson from Eccl. 12:13—14, "My Purpose in Life." They will also be hosting an Area-Wide Youth Devotional following worship service.

2016 BENEVOLENCE REPORT:  In 2016 the benevolence team provided assistance on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of each month from 1:00 to 3:00PM. Assistance was provided to 365 families on 504 occasions. Financial assistance provided for various needs was $18,931.54. Other assistance provided included church members donations to the food pantry. Gasoline vouchers were also made available for out of town medical purposes. In addition, 92 food baskets were provided to needy families at Christmas time. Those assisting on the Monday benevolence ministry team during 2016 included: Sandra Carrell, Charolette Bollman, Jimmy & Marie Faulkner, Kim Hanley, Peggy Jack, Tanya Welch, Dannie Weeks, Don Lawrence and Richard Peace. Clint & Misty Gage coordinated the Christmas food basket distribution.

Update on Jay Cannon 1/3

Laura posted this update:  "Some of you have asked for an update on Jay...he's hanging in there but the chest tubes and the no eating are getting to him! Going back to Dallas Friday for more tests. Praying results will show that he is healing and they will let him start clear liquids! Thank you for continuing prayers!!"

Services for Coby Whitaker - 1/3

Coby Ray Whitaker, 23, of Azle, left his temporary home for his eternal home in the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, in a single motor vehicle accident in Ft. Worth in his beloved "Linda", his Toyota Tundra.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Smith & Pastor Danny Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Candle Light Vigil was held on Sunday night, Jan. 1st, on the fifty yard line of the football field at the Azle High School Football Stadium. He graduated from Azle High Scholl in 2011.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Dylan’s Drivers, 1425 20th Street NE, Paris, TX 75460.

Barbara Dean's brother inlaw, Gary LeFlore, fell yesterday and broke his hip. He is having surgery today.  He has dementia and the family is asking for prayers from this church family.

One of my grandfriends, Kimrie Dean will be seeing a neuro oncologist and neurosurgeon on Tuesday morning. She a d her family could use some prayers.

Connie Murray will have triple by-pass on Monday morning.
