Weekly Updates - 8/20


Thank you Grady King for speaking to us from 1 Thess. 1.  He raised these questions:
  1. How did you see God in your life this week?

  4. What good can we do around here and how can we include our neighbors in on it?

PRAYER REQUESTS:
  • Gene Stallings - After having a stroke earlier this week, Coach was at church this morning and looked great!!!! 
  • Peggy Wright - Health
  • Charles Richards - Still in the hospital.  He's improving daily.
  • Phyllis Waugh - Was back at church this morning !! 
  • Jean King - She was also back at church this morning! 
  • Sharon Kinison - Is continuing to have problems with her legs. Is going to see a pain management specialist.
  • Webber Woodall - Will be having a sleep study this week.
  • Lucy Staley - Health
  • Gail Clark has some serious health issues.
  • Jean King - Back issues
  • Loretta Nabors - Back issues
  • Mike Grigsby - Health
  • William and Lucy Offutt - Health

  • Local businessman Steve Glover, has a brain tumor. Taking chemo treatments now at Medical City. 
  • Jazzmayne Radtke, Dinah Border's granddaughter - High risk pregnancy. Prayers for a safe delivery and healthy baby.
  • Ed and Cheryl Bullard's great grandson's Rylan and Stetson have both had health issues this week.
  • Tyler Tomme - a friend of Dannie Weeks' was mugged this week and has suffered some serious injuries.
  • Brenda Simmons (friend of Leslie Keele) - Health
  • Wanda Huggins has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
  • Joe DeNoon - Health (Tanya Welch's step-dad).
  • Sandy Welch (Kristi Anthony's Mom) - Health
  • Dr. Robert Zimmerman (friend of Derald Bulls) - Cancer.
  • Matt Welch, youngest brother of Kristi Anthony, has been told that he needs a liver transplant.
  • Allyson Fasken (teacher at PISD) Cancer.
  • Janet Fouse - (former member) Cancer.
  • Joyce Fouse - Cancer 
  • Sierra Faulkner - 3 year old with cancer. (Friend of Molly's) - Had scans this week.  She got really good reports!!!
  • Jerry Savage cancer has returned and is aggressive. He is a preacher in Sulphur Springs.
  • Tammy Huffman Beazley - (former member) Cancer
  • Debbie Daniel (friend of Molly's) - Cancer

THANK YOU to all who helped, in any way, with the annual Teachers Luncheon this week!!! 

WEDNESDAY NIGHT WORSHIP:  This Wednesday night (8/23) at 6:30pm, we will have Richard Peace speaking.  All adult classes will be in the auditorium.

PRAYERS FOR STUDENTS:  The new student cards are in and ready to be distributed.  Find Tanya Welch to get the picture card of your student.  Thank you in advance for the blessing you give a high school student in our community to simply pray for them!  If you need a name, stop by and fill out the information card.  Mike Long will be speaking to us briefly on 8/27.   (This is for North Lamar, Paris and Chisum High Schools.)

DIVORCE SUPPORT GROUP:  This group will be resuming on Sept 11th at 7pm in Room 17.  This group will meet for 13 weeks.  It is open to all people in the Paris area and for both divorced and separated individuals.

MEN'S BREAKFAST GROUP:  They will start meeting again on the FIRST TUESDAY of each month at 7AM, beginning Sept. 5th. This is a time to share a hearty breakfast and fellowship with other men in our congregation.

RAINBOW ROOM ITEMS: Lice kits and boys clothing

PANTRY NEEDS:  Grape jelly, pasta sauce and canned soup.

SIMPLE SUPPER:  The groups will resume serving on Sept. 6th.  If you would like to help on a team, one Wednesday out of each month, please see Kyle Jones.
