Ruth Ann Stallings was hospitalized Wednesday in Paris Regional and remains in the hospital tonight (room #554). She had a bad coughing spell that made the doctors suspect pneumonia. Tests confirmed a small area of concern so she was hospitalized. They expect her to go home Friday morning. Please pray for continued healing for her.

Update on Lucy Staley - 2/28
Kathy posted this update today: I had a meeting with the doctors and therapists today about Mom. The problem all started from her kidneys I was glad to hear they had figured out what caused her issue. They have cleared the health issue and now she just needs therapy. They're hoping by next Friday she might get out, this was a big disappointment to her, she was hoping to get out tomorrow. She is still just to weak to go home. Thanks for all the prayers, visits and calls.
Yesterday's update: Today Mom was doing a little better. Her sodium level was up some. They had to give her potassium and magnesium today. Doctor's still not sure what has caused this to happen. She ate some today and I'm sure glad of her for trying.
Update on Jay Anthony - 2/28
Austin posted this morning: "I hadn’t seen dad in a couple of days before last night. I was home taking taking care of some stuff for him while Erin/Chris were staying at the hospital. When I got back last night, I noticed a change. The “droop” on his face was gone. He was able to mumble some words and the feeding tube was out. I was very excited to see these changes....They’re now saying we could be here up to a month, which dad is not happy about. He is ready to get back to his ranch and my mom. The progress is good though and hopefully we will be out of here sooner rather than later."

Prayer Request - 2/27
One of our co-workers, Rhonda Kittle at First Federal/Mt. Pleasant, has been diagnosed with Follicular Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is
treatable, manageable, but not curable. The doctor says people can live long
happy lives.
In January, she had been sick and thought she might have pneumonia. Doc sent her for an x-ray and did not like the results, so then they sent her for a cat scan that showed some spots. Finally, preformed a pet scan and 2 biopsies. The first biopsy was in a lymph node under her arm and the second was to pull bone marrow. With the results of the biopsies, they have listed her in Stage 4. They put a PICC line in Friday and she's supposed to start her first round of chemo today. She will do 2 days of treatments every 28 days for 4-6 months.
Rhonda is a red-headed ball of energy, she's loud and she is a PRANKSTER! We love her and pray God's healing for her!

Update on Jay Anthony - 2/25
Austin posted this update on Jay this morning:
We are now on the rehab floor. Dad began his first day of rehab this morning at 8. The therapists have been great with him so far. He’s very alert which is a good and a bad thing. If you know dad, you know how independent he is. He’s not enjoying the continuous help with everyday activities but he knows they are necessary for a full recovery. We are hoping that we are only here for a couple of weeks and then plan to hopefully go home and continue therapy in Paris. With that being said, we know that two weeks is only a goal, not an exact time frame. His speech has not come back yet but he has made some progress in that area. Thank you so much for helping our family during this very difficult time.

- Former LACOC member, Jimmy Newman, had a stroke Saturday morning. His granddaughter Michelle Jewett Hobbs posted this information on Saturday...While being monitored for chest pain at Paris Regional Medical Center, his nurse noticed a sudden speech change, facial asymmetry and left side weakness. She activated the stroke team and CT confirmed embolic stroke. The fog wouldn’t allow helicopter to fly to Dallas to have a neuro evaluate, so I listened to an awesome nurse do a quick consent and push tPA to break up the clot in his brain. His symptoms resolved and he was eating regular food by noon today. Very fortunate he was not home asleep at 0130 am when the stroke occurred and his nurse happened to walk by his room and ask how he was doing. Now at Medical City Plano Brain and Spine and doing well. More tests to come to figure out the etiology and monitor for bleeding after the clot buster. Very thankful and appreciate all the prayers.

Update on Jay Anthony 2/23
Update from Austin: Dad has slowly progressed these last few days. His strength and his mind are starting to come back. He has mumbled “love you”, “Austin”, “Tyler”, “Cody”, “Erin” and “Kristi” so far. We are hoping to get to rehab tomorrow or Monday. The biggest factor in all of this for us is his speech. For a guy who is so independent and strong-willed, we want nothing more for him than for his speech to return to normal. They’re saying that this could take months.....No, things aren’t great or even good. This progress is a positive thing but it is by no means easy for anyone involved with this situation. We just hope that he makes a full recovery.

Update on Lucy Staley 2/22
Kathy Grigsby posted this update this morning: Mom was moved to 3rd floor Rehab Thursday evening and will start therapy in the morning. She is still very weak and sodium levels aren't up much. She is not eating anything and says the thought of food makes her sick...She sure doesn't need to loose any weight. Hasn't really eaten anything since a little last Sunday.(But she is telling me that she needs to get out this Sunday, that will be long enough in there..I told her they usually don't do therapy on weekends...But she thinks 1 day will be enough!!!) Lol.đŸ˜‡ Please pray for her appetite and sodium level. Thanks to all who have asked about and praying for her.

Update on Jay Anthony - 2/21
Austin just posted this updated on Jay: There is no real progress on Dad these last two days. He is still very lethargic and sleeping 90% of the day and night. He got sick in the night on Tuesday night but thankfully that has subsided. We are working on getting a room in rehab at this hospital and hopefully we will be going there this weekend or early next week. They’re saying that he should be in rehab for 10-14 days. We are taking that with a grain of salt, because Mom was told the same thing and her rehab took 3 months. Thankfully, we have plenty of people helping around the clock to make sure things are taken care of here, at home and at the furniture store......The brain is a complex thing and no one can really tell us anything. No one is on the same page. We saw it with Mom and now we are seeing it again. Hopefully things will turn around soon. It would be very difficult to have two parents that need long term care. I will post an update as frequently as I can.

Please pray for my Mom(Lucy Staley). She fell this evening and was taken to ER. Does not have anything broken. She has not felt well the last few days and was very weak. After several tests the Doctor found her sodium was way too low. They are admitting her to get it right. She will probably be very sore a few days. But very thankful nothing was broken.

Update on Jay Anthony - 2/19
Austin posted this update at 8:30 a.m.:
We had a pretty decent night. He was able to feel me touching his right arm this morning which is an improvement. The surgeon and his Neurologist here think that his accident in November is what caused the stroke (his truck rolled over him when he was under it).
He did go in to an ER in Paris on Sunday with stroke-like symptoms. He was told it was a TIA and that he was fine to leave after a couple of hours. The surgeon here says that the ER in Paris should have recognized the clot and they didn’t, so that is very frustrating.
BUT all in all, we are seeing progress, something that we didn’t see initially with my Mom’s accident so we are positive about the situation.
I probably won’t have an update for a few days, if I were to guess, but thank you to everyone for thinking of him in this difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who has checked on dad. He is in ICU now. The surgery went well. He’s not able to speak or move the right side of his body, and he can’t feel anything on his right side either. He looks good though and is moving his left arm pretty well. We will just have to wait and see what the next few days bring.

Obituary for Roy Jones
Roy Alan Jones, 87, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, came to rest in the arms of his Heavenly Father on Friday morning, February 15, 2019, at Heritage House in Paris, Texas.
Roy Alan was born January 13, 1932, in Crawford, Texas, to Roy Brown Jones and Flaven Walker Jones, and after graduating from Crawford High School in 1949, he played football at Hill Junior College before entering the United States Air Force and serving his country as an air traffic controller during the Korean War. Following his honorary discharge he earned a degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas in Austin. Roy Alan worked for a variety of government contract companies including Boeing, Rockwell International, and Hercules over the next 40 years. He played an integral role in developing an ignition component of the Apollo missions that went to the moon.
On June 6, 1958, Roy Alan married his childhood friend, Nancy Lou Compton. Roy and Nancy had five children, three foster children, twelve grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
He provided invaluable homework assistance to his children and never missed one of their activities. He especially loved sporting events which he always followed with earned praise and kind, constructive criticism. He enjoyed taking his family camping, boating, hiking fishing and a variety of other outdoor activities.

"Last Thursday evening, Dustin and Haley's son Laramy (Smith) , who is 12, was taken to Children's Medical Center/Plano with an elevated blood sugar of over 1200! But before they sent him to Dallas, they were able to get it down around 400. He has been diagnosed with onset early-stage type one diabetes. He will be on insulin the rest of his life. He will have at least four injections a day. He has learned to stick his finger and check his blood for which we are thankful. He is yet to try and give himself an injection. He's a little scared of that. But he is OK to receive the injections."
Please keep their family in your prayers, especially as Laramy goes back to school tomorrow.

Weekly Update - 2/3
Thank you Randy for our message from Colossians 2:11-15..."Buried with HIM in Baptism".
I. A spiritual circumcision. (2:11)
II. This spiritual circumcision occurs in baptism. (2:12)
III. The rearticulating of being circumcised in baptism and the results. (2:13-15)
Points to Ponder:
1. What distinguishes our Christian identity?
2. The central action of baptism belongs to God.
3.Our goal must be to convert people to Jesus, not just to get them wet.
4. Frequently remember and reflect upon your own baptism and sees each opportunity to tell others about it.
What is YOUR baptism story?
