Curtis Garrett sent this message today: "This is a little girl whose grandmother works here at the Police Department in the records department. 4 year old Nevaya has been diagnosed as having a cancer named Neuroblastoma. There is a tumor on one of her adrenal glands that has grown to the size of a ‘fist’. There are some indications that the tumor may have already spread to her back and into her legs. Nevaya was complaining of back pain when she was first taken to the doctora few weeks ago. That doctor stated she had an inflammation in her hip. She’s been losing weight and running fever which brought her back to the doctor.
More tests are being done today at Children’s Hospital in Dallas to find the extent of the spread of the disease. Veronica said that the doctors will start the first round of
chemotherapy sometime today with Nevaya being in the hospital for a minimum of three weeks.
Please keep Nevaya, Keith, Kathryn and Veronica in your thoughts and prayers as they move forward with the treatment."
Barbara Dean sent this message today: "Please add Dennis Malone on the prayer list. He has started a new chemo med. and is in a great deal of pain. He's the father of Jeremy Malone." Dennis is also a new brother in Christ and needs our encouragement!
Carmen Whiteman's funeral service will be 11am, Friday morning at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with visitation afterwards.
