Derald Bulls' cousin, Mike LeFan, passed away today. He fought, from the age of 8, with paralytic polio with full respiratory involvement. He was a 'full-time polio quad' using a respirator to breathe and a power wheelchair for mobility. He is one of fifty or fewer persons in the U.S. using an iron lung. With the toes of his left foot, he wrote books, hundreds of magazine articles, and scores of speeches, newsletters, brochures, and other assignments for clients. He earned a degree in English from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, with a minor in sociology.
His funeral will be held in Temple, TX on Friday.
