Update on Kristi, posted by Jay:
We asked for God to open only the doors that He wanted opened. So that we wouldn't force them open and interfere with His plans. Last Sunday night a really good friend and awesome neuro-rehab therapist called me and gave me some of the best advice to date. Among this wise advice was the charge to allow God to lead us in these decisions and allow Him to block anything that He did not want us to ...pursue. That has been our prayer all this week.
We were probably facing two difficult choices, stay home and continue to get really good speech therapy, physical conditioning, neuro-feedback and be surrounded by a lot of great people who care for Kristi BUT still not receive the physical and occupational therapy that Kristi truly needs. The other alternative was really even much more difficult; move away from home again into an inpatient neuro-rehab specialty facility.
We really needed for God to confirm either choice because there was concern and selfishness associated with either choice. God used two very specific events to confirm a choice (or really no choice at all) for us today. The most difficult alternative easily became the obvious choice. God showed His loving concern for us by making the difficult choice to move back to Zale Lipshy so easy today. Now I don't think that it will be so easy when it actually happens but we are certain that this is the right decision. This inpatient stay will be short (hopefully), only a few weeks but they expect to build Kristi's confidence in walking and send her back home with renewed enthusiasm!
The PM&R doctor also confirmed what our wonderful therapist friend told us...Kristi is going to get well. No one knows the time frame, which will most likely be LONG, but confident hope fuels the journey! Please pray for us all. We need prayers for:
1. Insurance to approve the admission
2. Our strength to get through this time
3. The doctors and therapists at Zale Lipshy
4. Our wonderful professionals n Paris to be able to take Kristi back when she returns home - Rachell, Tracy, and Brandy
This may happen within the month and really, the sooner the better. God is in Control - the Anthony's
