Services for Mary Bishop

Our condolences to the Bishop family. Mike's mom, Mary Bishop, passed away on Tuesday.  The funeral service will be at LACOC on Friday at 11 am.  Family visitation will be Thursday from 6-7 pm at Fry-Gibbs.

Can you help?

We will be hosting a Foster Family Appreciation/Fun Day at our building on Saturday, 5/21 from 10am-2pm. Most of the planning will be done by CPS, but they need help running the different activities that are planned, and we can help with set up and clean up. They are planning to have things like bounce houses, ball pits, face painting, carnival games, etc.
We need to go ahead and get a count of how many people will be able to help, and CPS requires that anyone over the age of 14 will need to fill out a volunteer application and have a background check completed. (Our younger kids are welcome to come help as long as we monitor them). If you are interested in helping that day, volunteer forms will be available in the church office for you to fill out. We need the paperwork turned in by 5/10 so there will be time to get the background checks completed before the event.
We hope to have a good turnout to show love and appreciation to these families that are helping kids in need. Please let Rachel Spencer know if you are planning to be there. Email or text: rachelrspencer@gmail.com, 903-272-6586.

Update on Haley Bulls-Smith

Derald Bulls just sent this message... "Sending prayers of Thanksgiving! Haley was discharged today and will go home for seven days and have therapy daily. Please express our thanks for all the prayers, texts, calls and concern. We pray that she is back on the road to a full recovery."

Weekly Update - 4/24

Patrick told us that he is starting a 7 week series on the 7 "I AM" sayings of Jesus.  Yesterday he spoke to us about "I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE", with the text taken from John 6:35-59.
HIS divine nature, HIS divine character, HIS mission is declaring that "I AM" something!
Jesus wants us to receive HIM ... Not for the gifts, but for what HE can be in our lives.

~~Focus on HIM  ~~Believe in HIM  ~~COME to HIM
THIS is how you get eternal life!
The Bread of Life is a person, HE has power and HE has promises that will last forever!

Update on Haley Bulls-Smith 4/20

Haley has been admitted to PRMC/Room 504.  She is in a lot of pain and having numerous tests run.

Prayer Request 4/20

Derald Bulls just sent this message: In ER with Haley since 1. Being re-admitted! Several related issues, really worried. Dustin still off work with pneumonia. They can't catch a break!

Prayer Request - 4/19

Please pray for my friends, Jason and Erica Vickers.  They are in Dallas today for testing on their unborn baby girl.  This was her post on facebook last week:
Jason & I are having a girl! News that we had been waiting to hear, But in the same sentence the joy would be taken away. There is never a good way to deliver
bad news. Now, I'm having a hard time finding that joy. We were told our little girl has a neural tube defect & must go to Dallas for further testing. Prayers & miracles is all we can really do at this point.

THIS IS ONLY A DRILL

For the past several months, Paris Regional Medical Center, the City of Paris and local emergency services have been planning an emergency training drill at the hospital facility. The purpose of this drill is to test the hospitals’ preparedness and emergency response to a multi-casualty incident. This drill is expected to take place the morning of Thursday, April 21st and will conclude by noon. Live training drills are required annually to maintain the hospitals’ preparedness and accreditation, as well as integration with local emergency services.

There will be live radio traffic on public safety radio frequencies regarding an active shooter event at the hospital as part of this drill. Law Enforcement, EMS, Air Medical and Fire units will be dispatched as if responding to a real incident. The only difference is the words “Drill Drill Drill” will be stated before information is given out. Hospital patients, staff and visitors will be made aware of the drill the morning of April 21st, and many hospital staff will be positioned throughout the hospital to make sure that all persons who may be in the area are well aware that the drill is taking place. Please be aware that there will be a large response of emergency vehicles in and around the PRMC campus during the morning hours of April 21st, and that this is a planned live response of your emergency services to this mock drill.

Since the hospital is in close proximity of the North Lamar Independent School District Campuses, we wish to make sure that everyone knows that this drill has been planned in detail for months, will be occurring wholly on hospital property, and is only a drill and not a real incident.

We will be using social media, electronic and print media to make sure that there is no confusion as to this being only a drill. There will also be news media and/or outside TV station vehicles in town for this drill. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Erin Barnes, the PRMC Public Information Officer, at 903-785-4521."

Update on Cherry Walker - 4/5

Brian Robbins just updated me on his aunt, Cherry Walker:  Cherry's paralysis on her right side is GONE!!!  She still can't talk yet.  They gave her the meds that are supposed to help when someone is having a stroke, but doctor said there's only a 1% chance that the clot on her brain would dissolve, on its' own.  BUT...when they did the test, the clot had already DISSOLVED on its own!!!  We now need to pray that her speech will come back!  She will continue to be in ICU another few days, then go to a step down unit there in the hospital.  Prayers have been answered....but continue to pray for her!!!!
