Prayer Request 1/31

Prayers of thanksgiving for Shane Welch, who was injured in a fire yesterday.  He is fine! Praise God!!! His pants caught on fire while trying to put out a grass fire.  Part of his left leg/ankle was burned slightly but his left hand was much worse.  Thank you for the prayers and please continue to pray for quick healing.  Keeping this man down is quite a challenge.  He is trying to figure out what all he can accomplish with one hand and one good boot! Haha!!

This message is from Lucy Offutt:  "Thank you all for your continued prayers and the many cards we have received. We ask for continued prayers as we fight the flu in spite of trying so hard to avoid it through vaccine and staying away from large gatherings.  We were unsuccessful in avoidance and are now fighting through it. William's respiratory distress complicates the recovery, but prayer is key. Thank you all very much. We love you and miss you!"

Update on Ezra Fitts 1/27

Update on Ezra ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’™ He is having a rough day again today. They were able to wean some of the oscillator settings but he is at 75% oxygen which is very high.... He is very irritable so they tried to give him some sedatives but he got jittery so if they give it to him again they are going to only give a half dose. We found out also he has a virus called CMV. They are treating with antibiotics. Having this doesn’t allow them to use steroids if need be because it won’t allow allow him to fight infection. The worry is that this type of infection could affect his hearing so prayers that he beats it with no issue. Being on the oscillator so high also puts him at risk with his eyes. His lungs are weak and very sick... We desperately need prayers for his lungs and that they can wean this ventilator some. Thank you friends and God Bless all of you. ๐Ÿ’™

Prayer Request 1/27

Jimmy Thielman sent this message: Please add Marchita  Thielman to prayer list. Having gallbladder surgery today.

Update on Sarah Smith - 1/26

Our precious sister Sarah Smith is back on her way to a Dallas hospital with pneumonia.
Please pray for her body to be rid of this illness!

Update on Ezra Fitts 1/26

Update on Ezra Cole Fitts (great grandson of the Roden's):  "As I mentioned yesterday we knew things would get worse before they would get better. Last night Ezra was needing a better blood gas test. (This is where they test the exchange of oxygen and CO2.) He got the better test but over night and this morning he started swinging and desating a lot and requiring more assistance from the ventilator. Dr. August did a X-ray and his lungs are struggling so she decided to put him back on the oscillator. This was the machine he started out on that kinda vibrates him and sends short quick puffs of air. They are hoping this will be easier on his lungs so that they can heal and try to grow. If they see no improvement they are considering a round of steroids again. (Not my favorite option.) For a Mom and Dad this is scary or should I say terrifying. I find myself between strength and fear daily. We have all prayed over Ezra and we are claiming our baby to be healthy and to be able to come home. I know God has him in his hands. It’s human nature to want to cry in fear which I do often but God reminds us that we are never alone and that he has this. So today I’m claiming that everything is going to be ok and that this set back will only benefit us. Now here we are. A step backwards and a test of faith. What do we do? We keep praying. We stand strong. We have FAITH no matter what storm we may endure. God has this."

Prayer Request - 1/26

Linda Erwin posted this request:  "I would like to ask for prayers for my nephew, my sister's youngest son.Brian Warlick is very ill with 15-20 bleeding lesions on his brain as well as a large brain tumor. A brain biopsy is being performed today. Please pray for he and his immediate family as they await answers. Thank you!"

Update on baby Ezra

UPDATE ON EZRA:  "PDA closure procedure is done and everything went really well. Doctor said we should start seeing some improvement in the next 72 hours. The biggest prayer needs for now are for his continued recovery and good lung development."

Can you help???

Marg Norlin has been in the hospital for the last 10 days. She is being released today (Jan 24th). She said that having a couple of meals a week brought to her would be a blessing. She is still very weak and is unable to get out. Her daughter and grandsons are staying with her so there will be 4 people for the meals. If you can help provide a meal for Marg and her family it would be greatly appreciated!

We encourage all members to be present during this important time and as a follow-up to our 24-hours of prayer. The 24-Hours of Prayer begins Wednesday, January 24 @ 10 a.m. with the women’s bible study and will continue until 10 a.m. January 25 concluding with your Kiddie Kollege students. If you signed up for a time, the schedule is at the Welcome Center and was emailed to you. We have been blessed that all slots have been covered and will be prayed for but we welcome others who may have missed the sign up to please set aside 30 minutes or an hour and pray for God’s direction in the search for our next minister.

Update on Henson Service

There will be no graveside service for Johnny Henson. There will instead be a service at Roden Pryor Funeral Home at 4pm.

Update on Ezra Fitts - 1/10

Sharon Roden posted this update on Ezra Fitts: While Daddy is getting to hold our little guy I thought I’d update you all. The doctor finally came in and talked to us about Ezra’s current situation. They did a blood culture yesterday and it did grow some bacteria. They believe it’s what he had before call NEC or Necrotizing Enterocolitis. Today they did another blood culture and everything came back NEGATIVE!!!!!

He is having to rely more on the ventilator just because of the inflammation in his lungs due to being on the vent so long. They plan on starting feeds again tomorrow and then probably start steroids! To get his lungs to finish developing and so we can get started on the cpap again! I’m here to tell you that God is good!  Ezra Cole Fitts is a miracle baby that had everything against him in the beginning and here we are 2 months later and almost 3 lbs gained since birth. Your continued prayers are working miracles in this tiny NICU room. God is with us everyday and we can feel Him surrounding us. We love you friends and family!  We will continue to update you as things happen

Can you help?

Please help provide meals for Robert & Christine Henson the next few weeks. On top of Christine recovering from surgery, their son, Johnny, passed away on the 8th. Health issues are making it difficult to prepare meals so we would like to help ease that burden. A noon meal would be great if possible and there are no dietary restrictions. Thanks so much for your help!
