Weekly Update - 9/30

Thank you Randy for your message this morning "The Drama of Discipleship", with the text taken from Luke 5:1-11.

During class time this morning Stephen Gerrald and Kyle Jones taught a combined adult class four new songs that we sang BEAUTIFULLY during worship.  

PRAYER REQUESTS:
  • Brad Francis is very ill complications from of diverticulitis.
  • Mitchell Hicks is at home after having hernia surgery at Baylor/Dallas this past Friday.
  • Donna McGee - Had the last radiation treatment this week and the port is OUT!
  • Nancy Partin Was transferred to a Ft. Worth hospital for bypass surgery. 
  • Webber Woodall is having a stress test tomorrow and will get the results on Wednesday. This will determine if he can have knee replacement. He'll also be seeing an ENT on Tuesday to get some answers about a one inch "polyp" that has shown up on the latest MRI.
  • Lloyd Usry is at home after being in Alliance Hospital in Durant this week.

  • Laurie Vanderpool, the Stallings daughter, is recuperating at her sister's home in Dallas, after having hip replacement surgery this week.

  • Former member, Louie Woodall, was hospitalized this past week, but is also at home now.  
  • Former member, Robert Henson, is back at his daughter's home after being in the hospital this week.
  • Dr. Steve Marx is in a hospital in Texarkana in serious condition.
  • Bobby Salter asked that we pray for his 9 year old granddaughter, Jordan Frost. She has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
  • Helen Short (friend of Anita Roden) is experiencing health issues.
  • Paul Denney - Local architect - Health
  • Please keep our troops and first responders in your prayers for safety.

Prayer Request - 9/26

Prayers requested for Lloyd Usry. He was admitted to Alliance Hospital in Durant yesterday evening after a Dr.'s appointment. He has not felt well for some time and had an abnormal EKG.

Prayers requested for Nancy Partin. Bill just called and said she is being transferred to a Ft. Worth hospital for bypass surgery. We will update as we have more information.

I just talked to former member Christine Henson this afternoon.  She asked for prayers for her and for Robert.
Robert's been sick the whole month of September and is now in the Texoma Medical Center in Denison.  He now has pneumonia and low sodium.  They've done a CT, but have no results on that yet.

Update on Louie Woodall - 9/25

Update on Louie Woodall:  Louie is feeling much better. Has a virus, similar to cold or stomach virus, but it settled around his heart. Should clear up in a few days. Meanwhile, no visitors because viruses are contagious!!!!
Marolyn also said he may get to go home tomorrow. She appreciates all the prayers and says God answers them!!!

Derald Bulls sent this peayer request:  "One week from today, Lord willing, DJ will have completed the first day of a week-long series of Doctoral Qualifying exams. Your prayers for a "ready recollection," good rest, absorption of all that's being reviewed, lowered anxiety, and all that fun stuff is very appreciated. Gonna be a long week next week."

Prayer Request - 9/24

Former member, Louie Woodall was taken to the hospital yesterday evening with chest pains. He was admitted and is in room 403. They are running tests and trying to decide whether to transfer him to Baylor. He and Marolyn would so appreciate your prayers.

OUR SYMPATHY is extended to Ray and Carol Murphy on the sudden passing of her son, Gary Loggains. 

CONGRATULATIONS:  James Ray and Kristy Rodgers and Jeff and Julie Rook are thrilled to announce the arrival of their granddaughter, Emily Elise, who was born on 9/11/18, weighing 6 pounds and 12 ounces, in Minnesota.  Emily's parents are Wes and Kate (Rodgers) Smith.

Update on Paul McClain 9/22

Paul McClain update from Valerie:
They have Paul on steroids by IV last night through Sunday and see if that helps.  If they don't help, he'll be taken off steroids   Maybe.   He's feeling better today and has more energy. His liver and kidney numbers were about the same but the liver doc said it might be trauma to the liver after the biopsy.  Please keep praying.   It's working.

Prayer Request - 9/19

Paul McClain is in serious condition with possible liver failure and was transported to Baylor/Dallas last night. He may be in need of a liver transplant. His spleen is enlarged and his kidneys are not functioning as they should. His condition is very serious.  Valerie, Lee, Herchell and all the family would appreciate all the prayers they can get.

Update on Axton Garrett - 9/17

Courtney Garrett just posted this news:  We want to thank everyone for the prayers!! Axton's appointment went very well. His heart is healthy and has gained 2lb since our last Dr. Visit!!!

Prayer Request - 9/17

Betsy Mills asked that we pray for Sylvia and Ted Tongson.  Their home was destroyed by an explosion Sunday morning.  Specifically, they need prayers for no rain until they are allowed to recover anything that may have survived the blast.  Thankfully, they were out of town and no one was hurt, but their home is a total loss.

Prayer Request - 9/17

Dr. Steve Marx, a friend of David and Nancy Breedlove, has been taken to the hospital in Texarkana. He is very critical but in stable condition at this time. Your prayers are deeply appreciated.Dr. Marx preaches at Bagwell and has gone on many mission trips to Mexico and Cameroon.

Weekly Update - 9/16


RESPONSE:  Vickie Humphrey wanted to share a PRAISE and continue the prayers.
The biggest tumor is GONE!! Her pancreas looks NORMAL!!!
There are some smaller spots and she's started another round of chemo.

OUR SYMPATHY is extended to Joyce Basinger and family, in the passing of her sister-in-law Jackie Smithson.
CONGRATULATIONS:  Caleb and Mackenna (Jones) are thrilled to announce the arrival of their beautiful baby girl Lydia Nicole!!!  She was born this morning at 6:04am and weighed 9 pounds 3 ounces and is 20 inches long!  Proud grandparents are Kyle and Monica Jones and great grandparents are Roy and Nancy Jones!

PRAYER REQUESTS:
  • Donna McGee's latest scan shows that the cancer margins are clear. She will have a type of port inserted this week and will start radiation twice a day for 10 treatments then she'll start chemo.
  • Marg Norlin - Will be having surgery on Tuesday.
  • Dorothy Pearce - Is now in a rehab facility in Tyler.
  • Karen Cato will be having oral surgery on Tuesday.  She also had another CAT scan last week. She's been cancer free for 10 years, and we continue prayers for NO CANCER!

Update on Webber Woodall 9/13

I had to have Webber at Dr. Hashmi's office this morning for a check-up and to get an approval for his knee surgery. Since he's had by-pass, he will have to have an Echocardiogram this afternoon and a stress test in a couple of weeks. Please keep him in your prayers.

  • Nolan Anderson, grandson of Johnny & Loretta Nabors, had surgery on both eyes this week. He's doing great!!

Update on Dorothy Pearce - 9/12

Dorothy Pearce's surgery went well on Monday. She will be in Tyler for at least another 7-10 day for rehab. Keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery!

TONIGHT - 9/10


Monday Movie Night has moved to the second Monday of each month now, due to a scheduling conflict with the building.  Hope to see you tonight!!!

Update on Aileen Castleberry 9/10

Aileen Castleberry is now HOME!!! She is doing well and will have home health come for therapy. She wanted me to relay that her and Bobby were so very appreciative for the meals brought last time she had surgery but that they were managing just fine this time. Her friends Barbara and Cherry are taking good care of them and checking on them. Aileen said they would love to have visits (please call first) but no meals were needed. She and Bobby are looking forward to being back at church as soon as she is able.

Caleb and Mackenna (Jones) are thrilled to announce the arrival of their beautiful baby girl Lydia!!!  She was born this morning at 6:04am and weighed 9 pounds 3 ounces and is 20 inches long!
Proud grandparents are Kyle and Monica Jones and great grandparents are Roy and Nancy Jones!
