Update on Ken Icenhower 2/27

Carole Anderson sent this message:  They were able to open the blocked stent that Ken had. He is already back in his room and feeling great.  He will be wearing the life vest for 3 months to monitor his heart.

Update on Ken Icenhower 2 / 26

Update on Ken Icenhower:  At 1:30 Friday, doctors will attempt  to clean out the other stint. If it doesn't work they will put a defibrillator in.  Either way he will wear a "life vest" (monitoring  system) for 3 months...at least.

Update on Morgan Beckmon 2/26

She gets to go home today! Probably about two or three weeks with her parents and then she can go back to school. She will have IV antibiotics for six weeks.

Update on Ken Icenhower 2/25

Sheila had this update on Ken: They did get the fluid off of his lungs and he is doing somewhat better but they are still waiting on the doctors to determine whether surgery is needed or not.  Sheila is very thankful for all the prayers!  Keep on. :)

Prayer Request 2/24

Libby Trussell is in Baylor in Dallas with Double Pneumonia and an unknown lung infection. Roberts Bldg #936.

Update on Ken Icenhower 2/24

Ken Icenhower is doing well.  He did have a heart attack.  They were able to “clean out” one stent but could not do anything with the other one.  He is experiencing some nausea right now but they plan to release him tomorrow.

Urgent Prayer Request 2/23

Carole Anderson sent this message: Shelia has taken Ken Icenhower to  Baylor Heart in Plano with severe chest pains.   Do not know yet if it was a heart attack or not.  

Updated at 7:52 p.m.:  Shelia posted that Ken was having a heart attack as they got to the hospital. They are performing a heart cath.

Updated at 9:40 p.m.: Shelia posted that during cath they opened one stent, couldn't open the other one.  Dr said he should be ok with one.

Update on Mike Grigsby 2/21

Mike Grigsby is about the same. He's getting into a chair with some with help.  One lung still has a lot of fluid, they are working on that.

Update on Morgan Beckmon 2/21

Morgan is doing well after rough night.  Sleeping now.  Getting her up to sit in chair for lunch in a bit, getting regular diet today.

Update on Morgan Beckmon - 2/20

Linda Erwin just posted this message:  "Morgan's surgery is finished. She had a duplication cyst. It was drained & completely removed, it will not fill again. They also pulled her diaphragm down to give her more room for better breathing. She has 3 drain tubes & when those are removed, she will go home."

Update at 10:15 a.m.:  Nora's daughter-in-law Teena just came from the hospital.  Nora is doing great!  NO BLOCKAGES!

Update on Morgan Beckmon - 2/19

Updated at 8:30 a.m.:  Morgan is in Baylor/Dallas - Roberts Bldg/Room 1335.  She is resting at this time...testing will start today.

Updated at 9:48 a.m.:  Linda Erwin is on her way home from Dallas after taking Laurie to Baylor last night.  She says that Morgan has some pain due to the mass pushing against her heart.  They are keeping her flat in the bed.  Waiting for the Dr. to come in this morning.  The mass is 9cm ... which is about 4 inches and it's not attached to any major organ, as far as they can tell. The Dr. in Abilene thought it might have been pneumonia that had broken loose or an abscess but they really

Updated at 4:40 p.m.: An upper G.I. was performed on Morgan. They want to see if the mass is connected to her esophagus.
She did great. Only a fluid sack was found.
They are now waiting to find out if it will be removed!

Updated at 10 p.m.:  Morgan will have surgery at 9 a.m. on Friday morning.  Going in left side. She will have drain tube afterwards. She will be in the hospital for 5 days, 2 weeks at home and then resume normal activity in one month.

Urgent Prayer Request 2/18

Morgan Beckmon has had some health issues recently and she's been diagnosed with pneumonia. After further testing it was discovered that a mass has been found under her heart...not attached to any major organs.
She is about to be transported, by ambulance from Abilene, to Baylor/Dallas.

Prayer Request - 2/18

Lesa Bulls asked that we pray for Carter Page.  He was born this morning and has been CareFlighted to Dallas with breathing problems.

Weekly Update - 2/15

Thank you Keith Bollman for stepping in for Patrick today and speaking to us about "Unity of Believers"!  He talked to us about this aspect of the VISION. 
 
SYMPATHY:  Former member Roger Lough's Mom, Ruth Lough, passed away on Monday, Feb 9th.  Please keep this family in your prayers.

  • Laura Janes went forward this morning and asked for prayers for her medical issues and to help her in her struggles.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
  • Mike Grigsby suffered a stroke this morning.  He was CareFlighted to the Plano Medical Center.  He's been intubated and has some pneumonia in one lung.
  • Anita Roden is recovering from hiatal hernia surgery. 
  • Cherry Walker had carotid artery surgery on Friday. 
  • Judy Moore also had 5 bypass surgery, on Friday, the Dr. discovered during surgery that she'd already experienced a heart attack.
  • Michelle Anderson is fighting allergies at this time, she can't seem to get regulated.
  • Chris Easton's Dad is in the hospital with congestive heart failure and dementia.
  • Derald Bulls' friend, Marcia Putnam, is very ill at this time.
  • Larry Ballard's brother, Dwayne, has heart problems.
  • Lewis Anderson's friend, Gene Patterson, is recovering from carotid surgery and 5 bypass surgery.  Prayers for continued recovery.

Update on Mike Grigsby - 2/15

Rickey McFadden just spoke with Kathy a few minutes ago and got this update on Mike:  He isn't doing well at all.  He hasn't been responsive since around 10am.  They did have to intubate him this afternoon.  He has some pneumonia in one lung.  Rickey said that before bible class started this morning, Mike was singing a song...and must have had the stroke at that time.

Updates 2/13

Judy Moore's surgery went well.  She had 5 bypasses done.  Dr. Madder said she had had a heart attack at some time.  Will have vent removed Sat. morning but keeping her asleep tonight.

Cherry Walker's carotid artery surgery went well and she should go home in the morning.

Prayer Request - 2/13

Cherry Walker's surgery went well.  She will be in ICU overnight and then will get to go home tomorrow if no problems.


We have no update on Judy Moore yet.

Weekly Update - 2/9

Sorry for the delayed update this week.  I was down ALL last week with some type of "crud". 


PRAYER REQUESTS:
  • William Offutt is home and doing well.
  • Judy Moore will have open heart surgery at PRMC this Friday.
  • Sherry Welch continues her rehab in Tyler.
  • Johnny Houser - health 
  • Ken Love - health
  • Derald Bulls asked that we pray for his friend, Marcia Putnam.  She was admitted to PRMC on 1/31 and then transferred to Baylor/Dallas on Sunday.  She is the Director of Health Occupations at PJC and a life-long friend.
  • My niece, Carol McMillan, will be traveling back to Cancer Treatment Centers of America/Chicago in 2 weeks.  They were going to be performing surgery on her, but that has changed now and another course of treatment is being looked at.  The surgeon is being so cautious and believes it would be too risky, with her advanced stage of cancer.  Carol is only 44 years old.  Please pray hard for her and Clint.
  • Jill Faires' friend, Michael Terrell, will have surgery on Wednesday to move his spleen.  He needs a platelet count above 20,000 for this surgery.
  • Kelly Unruh asked that we pray for both sets of their grandparents.  For their health and family comfort.

Congratulations Shannon and Kristin Boyd! Ryland was born this morning around 7:20 am. 8 lbs 1.5 oz. and 20 inches long. Alan and Sherrie Boyd are the proud grandparents. Pete Taylor and Dorothy Boyd are the proud great grandparents. Lots of happy aunts, uncles and cousins!

William Offutt is having a procedure today in Dallas for his heart.
Lucy Offutt is experiencing issues with her blood pressure.
Lucy’s niece, Amanda Phillips, has been diagnosed with  stage 4 brain cancer.

Weekly Update - 2/1

Here are the high points from today:

  • Connect with God...We will continually seek a deeper connection with God through sincere worship and spiritual disciplines.  We will reach out and make disciples that do the same.
  • Unity of Believers...The complete unity of all believers will be increasingly evident through how we love, show grace toward, and partner with all who claim Jesus as Lord.
  • Restore all Things...Responding to God's plan to restore all things to Him, we will purposefully bring Christ's love and hope to our community, and to the ends of the earth.
Thank you to John Cannon for leading our class time with history of LACOC and reminding us that we have to look back, in order to look forward!

  • My niece, Carol McMillan, is still at Cancer Treatment Centers of America/Chicago, after undergoing a grueling week of testing.  She and Clint will be meeting with a surgeon in the morning.
