Update on Carol McMillan - 3/27

Carol got two units of blood overnight and her white count is up from .09 to 1.3, which is is still very low. They have to be over 4 to get out. Her energy level was noticeably better after the transfusion but her platelets didn't improve so she will receive a platelet transfusion later this morning. She got a visit from Dr. Prakash a little bit ago and he was very helpful and he is communicating with Cancer Treatment Centers of America/Chicago as well. She just ate breakfast and got her morning meds so hopefully she will get a little rest and the platelets will help.
Thank you ALL for your prayers....please continue them!

Also, her granddaughter, McKayla Figueroa, was at Spencer Clinic with her jaw locked. I am hoping that it is resolved and she can go back to school and Connie can take McKayla back to school and Anna home.
Anna Zant is improving and hopes to be back in class & Sunday morning worship soon.

Announcing....Addition to the Gerrald Family

I know that I posted about this on Sunday, but I wanted it in Mandy's own words....and the precious pictures!
After three years and one month of praying and waiting, Stephen and I are thrilled to announce that God has given us another son! He is a baby, his name is Shepherd and he is currently living in an orphanage in Ethiopia! We are hoping to bring him home by the end of the year! Please pray for Shepherd while he is waiting for us to come to him. All praise to God for the blessing of this precious little life! I can't wait to wrap him up in my arms! (I think I'm going to need some prayers for patience, as well!) Jesse is quite excited himself... if you can't tell!

Update on Karen Cato 3/24

Karen saw a doctor in Dallas today, for her shoulder injury. When she fell she sheared the bottom of the socket off, so she will have a 1/2 shoulder replacement this Friday. If it's successful, it will take a year to heal.
I'm already praying that this will be totally successful!

Prayer Request Update - 3/23

Peggy Robinson just called with an update on Jimmy McFadden.  They did place a stent in the artery and they were able to get the blood clot.  It was a very serious and tedious surgery...but thankfully the prayers got him through!

Weekly Update - 3/22

Thank you Patrick for the message this morning, "Waiting on God", with the text from Habakkuk 3.  In this chapter we learned what changed Habakkuk to react differently ... he finally learns silence and stillness.

God answers every prayer in one of three ways:
1. Yes.
2. No.
3. WAIT.

God's people must lean joy in waiting and develop a spirit of expectation of a release of God's word.

During this series, Habakkuk has become an example to us..
1. As the heart grows humble the mind grows wise.
2. Standing back can give us the right perspective.

How do we apply this prophetic writing of Habakkuk?
1. Wait on God when you don't understand Him.
2. Have confidence in God for He knows what's best.

Patrick also issued us a challenge for this week:
STOP COMPLAINING!  Encourage people more this week!  Fill your heart with joy!

RESPONSEStephen and Mandy Gerrald went forward this morning with a PRAISE and the news that they have been approved to adopt a little baby boy from Africa, whose name will be Shepherd.  It will be 7-8 months before they will have him and they will be traveling to Africa.  Please pray specifically for their safety in those travels and as they prepare for his arrival. Pray also for baby Shepherd as he waits for his Mommy and Daddy and big brother, Jesse.

Prayer Request - 3/4

Tanya Welch asked that we keep her father-in-law, David Welch, in our prayers.  He had a skin cancer removed on his hand....it was malignant.  Today he went to have a second layer removed in hopes of getting all the cancer.  Please pray that they did get it and that there will be no more "spots" to be concerned about.  He is doing fine and headed back to work this afternoon!

Update on Anita Roden - 3/4

Kathy Roden Floyd posted this update on Anita:  "My stepmom, Anita Roden, wanted me to give an update about what's going on . . . it's a long story, but she's been in the hospital three weeks following surgery to repair a major hiatal hernia because nothing will pass through into her stomach. There were probably some pre-existing complications that have all worked together to create a perfect storm. She's been getting nutrition by IV (tpn) for 10 days, but that was discontinued last tonight because she's having another surgery today to revise the original surgery and open things back up. This increases the risk of the hernia recurring someday but it's more important to get her swallowing and hopefully it won't recur. Thank you to everyone who has visited, prayed or blessed us in some way."

She was to have surgery at 0730 this morning and pray that this fixes the issue and that her esophageal motility is not the issue.
