Dear Lamar Avenue Family,
Your church leadership wants to take this opportunity to share with you we are working diligently to develop a plan for our church for this Lord’s Day and the coming days and weeks. We are attentively listening to the regional, state and national leaders regarding the Corona/COVID-19 Virus. A communication will be posted on Facebook, sent via email and sent through the robo call from the church on Saturday, March 14, with instructions for Sunday and possibly the coming week. It has been identified this virus is easily spread through coughing, sneezing, and possibly human contact. As you have seen or heard, many large gatherings have been cancelled or postponed for an uncertain length of time. Lamar Avenue is developing a fluid plan to place your best interest in the forefront. The best way to take care of YOU is to wash your hands (for 20 seconds with soap and water), and if you are not feeling well, avoid contact with anyone and if necessary, stay home. Our church thrives on making others feel welcome. However, for the immediate future, let us practice a virtual hug, warm greeting, elbow bump, or welcoming ‘nod’ to a church member of guests. Your safety is our #1 concern and if you have traveled around the country, state or even out of the country, and visited ‘high risk’ areas, such as a cruise, we ask you to please stay away from our corporate worship for a couple of weeks even if you feel certain you do not have the virus, being mindful of the fact that there are some members who are more vulnerable to illnesses. We want to remind everyone that our worship services are posted on the church website and available for viewing shortly after the worship service concludes. If you would like to be better informed about the Corona Virus, here is the Center for Disease Control’s website: www.cdc.gov/COVID19. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the elders or ministers.
