Update on Johnny Nabors - 8/21

Loretta posted this update: We are home!! Johnny is doing much better. The cultures did show MRSA which is very resistant to a lot of antibiotics so naturally he will be on a very pricey antibiotic for about 2 weeks. But whatever the cost, it is worth it to have him out of the hospital and on the mend. Thanks to everyone for all the phone calls, text messages and all your thoughts and prayers sent our way during JN’s hospital stay.

Update on Johnny Nabors - 8/20

Loretta sent this message: Johnny is doing better. The surgeon was by early this morning and unwrapped his hand and it still has some swelling, which is to be expected, but looks so much better. He also said they are sending in the infectious disease dr, given JN's history. That makes me feel so much better.. Still waiting on cultures which they said would take around 3-5 days to come back. Until then he continues to get the two different IV antibiotics, vancomycin & zosyn. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers they are much appreciated❤️

Keep Loretta in your prayers too!  She had to make a trip to Paris and back to Tyler last night.

Update on Johnny Nabors 8/19

Loretta sent this message: Johnnys surgery was last night around 8:15 pm. The surgeon called when he was done and said there was some pus that he got out. The infection wasn't deep. He will culture what he got out. It could take 3-5 days for those cultures to come back and JN would be in the hospital on IV antibiotics until then. He is sore, but he's better today.
Thanks to everyone for all the prayers. We really appreciate them.

Prayer Request 8/17

Loretta Nabors sent this message tonight:  Johnny has cellulitis on one of his fingers. He is in the hospital in UT Health in Tyler. We went to Quality ER in Paris on Sunday. They kept him for 23 hrs and gave him 2 different IV antibiotics throughout the night. The dr at the ER decided his finger was not looking any better and wanted to transfer him to the hospital for more IV antibiotics. That was another problem finding a hospital that wasn't full. They have him scheduled late Tuesday afternoon for a surgeon to lance it open wider and deeper and irrigate it and check to make sure nothing else is going on.

Peggy Wright

Peggy Wright, age 94, passed away peacefully on Aug. 15, 2020, at Pine Tree Ranch Assisted Living, Paris, TX, of natural causes.
Peggy was born Margaret Nolene Alexander on April 7, 1926, in Exeter, California, to Garlen Grady and Almeda Rose Todd Alexander. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Bisbee, AZ, where she grew up. She reminisced about roller skating on the tennis court of Bisbee High School where she would graduate in 1942.
On Dec. 25, 1945, she married Byron Odis Wright, in Bisbee, AZ. He died on June 23, 1996. Byron and Peggy lived most of their married life in Denver, CO, and they were active in the Church of Christ.
She loved to entertain and it was a rare Sunday afternoon when there weren’t guests around the table for roast beef, potatoes, carrots, and onions baked in her big aluminum roasting pan.
Peggy was an avid hiker and she and Byron loved taking the grandkids on camping trips. She was at the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ in Paris after moving to Paris in 2001. She made many good friends there playing Chicken Foot with the ladies.
Peggy was preceded in death by Byron, her husband of 50 years; her parents, Garlen and Meda Alexander; grandson Steve Shoemake; and brother, Larry Alexander.
She is survived by her sister, Judy Clark, of Paris; her daughter, Roxanne Raper, and husband, Jerry, of Paris; her son, Randy Wright, and wife, Michele, of Callaway, FL; three grandchildren, Gina Korczynski and husband, Steve, of Richmond, TX; Wade Wright and wife, Lezlie, of La Grande, OR; Amy Furbee and husband, Keith, of Callaway, FL; eight great-grandchildren, Mallory Shoemake of Paris, TX; Erin Anthony and husband, Austin, of Paris, TX; Connor Korczynski of Richmond, TX;  Eloise Wright of Edmond, OK; Lewis and India Wright of La Grande, OR; and Blake and Brandon Furbee of Callaway, FL.
In addition to immediate family, Peggy is survived and loved by In-Laws, nieces and nephews and dear friends whose friendships have lasted a lifetime.
In 1995 Peggy moved into Colonial Lodge Retirement Center and lived there for 5 years before moving to Pine Tree Ranch in 2020. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Stephen Towler and the staff at Colonial Lodge for years the kind care and concern shown to Mom, and to Kim Rhein and the staff at Pine Tree Ranch for your care and vigilance during these times of pandemic. We also want to thank everyone at Platinum Palliative & Hospice Care for your help and comfort to Mom and to us. And we would be remiss if we did not give a very special thanks to Monique Harris for her years of special care, companionship and friendship.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to any one of the following: the Latchkey Program, the Food Pantry, or the Jo Bulls Scholarship Fund at Lamar Ave. Church of Christ, 3535 Lamar Ave., Paris, TX 75460.
Cremation is being handled by Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. Memorial service and interment will be at Olinger Mortuary’s Mount Lindo Cemetery in Denver and will be scheduled at a later date.

Update on Dianna Welch 8/6

Lindsay posted this Thursday’s update: Mom is not septic anymore!!!!!🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 dr wants her to go into inpatient rehab so she can get rehab of course but also to be on more antibiotics bc she looks like she still has a little cellulitis. But she’s doing her part with therapy when they come and appetite is back more today. She hates the thought of being up here 7-10 more days, but we will get through it. She’s talking and making sense again. That UTI and sepsis had her so messed up with hallucinations and such. Good to have her in her right mind again. Please keep praying for complete healing!!

Praise Report - 8/6

Angie Duren sent this update on her Dad, Coy McGregor:  We have good news! My dad went back for a scan this week to see if the chemo pill is working. Three weeks ago, Dad began removing gluten from his diet and completely removing sugar, along with taking the chemo pill, which they said was only 20% effective. We were pleasantly surprised that he had no side effects from the chemo and the tumor has shrunk!!!! He will continue to take the chemo pill for 2 more rounds and if the tumor completely goes away, the doctor said he could be in remission another 2 years. God keeps blessing us with more time with him! Our family is beyond excited about this, and can't thank you all enough for the prayers! Keep them coming!

Update on Dianna Welch 8/5

Lindsay McCarter posted this update on her mom: Rough night and morning. BUT praising Him in this storm and we are so thankful for all the people praying for her! God is so good! Dr Singh came in and said she is so sick (vomiting and diarrhea) bc of the ultra powerful antibiotics he had her in bc he wasn’t sure what kind of infection she has (we thought there were 2, but praise God only ONE). One of her blood tests showed something that wasn’t there the next time so he said it was a contaminated test. Sooo...he is changing antibiotic to now treat just the one infection she has which is E-coli! She is still septic. She got up and did her PT for the first time and did well! Resting now. Keep praying!

Update on Dianna Welch 8/4

Lindsay posted this update: Mom got moved back to a regular room. MRI results didn’t show any infection in her foot! They are thinking now that the sepsis came from the UTI.. that’s called urosepsis. They did see a slight fracture in her foot with a CT scan so she will be in a boot. We don’t know when she did that. Blood sugars are back to normal. All other vitals are great. She’s just still in so much pain. But overall really really good news!! Thank you so much for the prayers that got her this far and please don’t stop!!

Keep those prayers going!!

Update on Dianna Welch - 8/2

Dianna is being moved to ICU, she is significantly worse.

Update on Dianna Welch - 8/2

Lindsay messaged this update on Dianna: Still very out of it and disoriented. Dr ruled out a stroke. We should know more later. The nurse thinks the combination of electrolytes being off, very high white blood cell count, which means infection somewhere, and blood sugar being high created a perfect storm and she is is just very physically unstable right now. They are starting antibiotics.

Update on Ed Bullard - 8/2

Ed was having chest pains tonight, this was the second time this week. They are letting him come home to follow up with his Cardiologist Monday with orders to return if the chest pains return. He still has the one stent that needs to be done from March that the doctor was not able to do in the allotted time frame. And he has not wanted to have it done yet because of Covid. Prayers please!

Saturday, August 1, 2020

Prayer Request - 8/1

Ed Bullard has been taken to ER for chest pains. He still needs the 2nd stent from March that the doctor wasn’t able to do.

Prayer Request- 8/1

Lindsay McCarter just sent this message about her Mom, Dianna Welch:
Please pray for mom. She is going by ambulance to ER. She has been in excruciating pain all day and hasn’t been able to move.  She was semi standing a while ago and dad was having to hold her up and when he couldn’t anymore, he laid her down on the floor and called 911. Her speech is slurred and thick and her blood sugar is over 350 and she hasn’t eaten all day. The EMT’s said they didn’t think it was a stroke but could be. JUST PRAY!! Only dad can be with her.
