Prayer Request - 1/27 - 3:18pm

Dustin Strickland (Linda's son) was taken by CareFlight to Medical City/Dallas on January 11th.  He had swellling and bleeding on the right side of his brain.  He is doing really good and was to come home on Tuesday of this week, with more physical therapy.  Please keep Dustin and his family in your prayers as he continues to recover from this infection.

Prayer Request - 1/27 - 10:42am

Jeff Taber (works at Paris Ford) had a nerve in his face accidentally cut during a surgery 13 years ago.  The side of his face "fell".  For the last 13 years he has not been able to close his eye, hear or smile.  The doctors in Dallas have now determined there are procedures they can perform to get him back to his old self.  The first surgery is to fix his eye so that he will be able to close it.  They will place a weight in the eyelid.  The 2nd surgery is to remove the tumor from his ear and at the same time they will remove muscle and nerves from his legs to repair his ear and face.  The surgery will take about 10 hours and he will have to be off work for 4 to 6 weeks!

Tony Clark (works at Kimberly-Clark) broke his leg back in December.  He had surgery on Tuesday and he is being released from the hospital today!  He had 17 screws and 2 plates inserted and they did not have to use bone graft aft all.  He doesn't know if he will have a hard cast for 3 weeks or move directly to the boot.  He's going to be off work for 3 months, to begin with, and see how things go, but he could be off as long as 6 months.  Just depends on the healing process.

Tammy Huffman's Mom sent his message asked that we pray for their preacher:  "Everett Hodges of the Central Church of Christ in Denison.  He has cancer and now he has blood clots all over his body. Can't start cancer treatments. He is in Texoma Medical center in Denison."

Jerry & Linda Tackett's daughter-in-law has been diagnosed with a kidney disease.  (I don't know many details...we just need to pray for her!)

Prayer Request - 1/25 - 8:28pm

Dinah Border's friend, Lynn Graham, has been battling cancer for the last few years.  She sent this message tonight:  "Lynn was to come home from the Baylor.  Given a few days to live.  Prayers for peace in the Graham family and smooth transition for Lynn to eternity."

Prayer Request - 1/25 - 1:50pm

I just talked with Mark Welch....Dianna did NOT break her hip, but she does have a FRACTURED pelvis and a black eye.  She is very sore and is at home resting now.

Prayer Requests - 1/25 - 10:55am

Lindsay McCarter sent this message today:  "Our family could really use the prayers from our church family at this time.
*My mom, Dianna Welch, fell last night and got banged up pretty bad and has a possible broken hip. They are at the Orthopedic Clinic now.
*Also, as stated before, my Granny (Barbara Dean) is awaiting test results.

*My grandparents, Roy and Lillian Welch, and their declining health is a great concern for us right now. Pop has recently been moved to Pine Tree and my grandmother, Lillian, has fallen and has pneumonia.
*Please pray for my dad Mark Welch and his siblings, Diane McFadden & Tom Welch, as they are taking care of her.
There are so many hurting people in this world with their own problems. I know that our family is not the only ones that need prayers, but I also know that the more people praying the better. That is why I am making this request. God is so good to his people and I know that He is in control and is the ultimate healer. He has a plan. Pray that we can all trust in His plans! Thanks for everyone's support!"

Also, Derald Bulls sent this message this morning:  Darren Hamner and his son Korbin were injured in an accident.  Darren is in Parkland ICU and Korbin is recovering at home.

Weekly Prayer Update - 1/16 - 10pm

Patrick brought a wonderful message to us this morning "A Character Sketch of a Godly Leader".  He gave many verses for us to study on this week as we get ready to pray and fast for 24 hours next weekend.
We are in need of more elders in order to better know and better serve our congregation.
Start your prayer and fasting at noon on Saturday (1/22) and end at noon on Sunday (1/23) with our Pot Luck Lunch.  If you have any questions about this, please contact one of our elders.

The Pot Luck will also be honoring Jered & Tammy as this will be their last Sunday with us.  Please join us to wish them God's blessings as they move from our area.

Congratulations to Brandon & Melissa Allen on the birth of their son, Walter Vincent Gantz Allen.  He was born on Friday, January 7th.  Proud grandparents are Paul & Rita Allen.  EVEN prouder great-grandparents are Jerry & Joyce Allen.

On a personal note:  This Wednesday morning, I will have the 1st of 5 surgeries on my eyes.  (3 on my left eye and 2 on the "good" eye.)  I have had only light perception in my left eye all my life.  The technology of the 21st century has come so far that I will be given sight!!!!!  The Dr. says I won't have 20/20...I don't even have that in my "good" eye AND any sight is a gift, when you've had NONE!
My left eye has Retinoschisis, a cataract AND "something" behind the cataract.  My right eye has a cataract.
Thank you ALL for the prayers, the BIG prayers, that you have sent up to our heavenly Father on my behalf.
Stay tuned for more details!  WoooHOOO!

PRAYERS ANSWERED - 1/12 - 6:55am

On a very personal note:  WOW!  When I asked you to pray, I had NO idea what you were praying for.  You were praying WAY BIGGER than I ever imagined!
There is a cyst/tumor/retainal detachment...SOMETHING...behind the "bad" eye that the Texas Retina Association will be doing more invasive testing on.  This will happen on Friday morning.  After that, they will confer with my Dr. over what to do next.  Surgery will start on the "bad" eye, then they will do the good eye.
I am BEYOND excited...cry/laugh/cry/laugh all at the same time!
Thank you all my sweet precious friends....God is SO good!

Update on Molly

This is what Molly's sister Mary posted on facebook a few minutes ago:

Ok, Martha just called and said Molly Melinda just came out of the dr. office and was thrilled to pieces. They seem to think that her blind eye may have a cyst/tumor/retinal detachment, behind it and the cataract in her good eye is really big. She has 2 more tests to get done and are trying to get her in to see another specialist while she is in town today. So, it sounds like maybe she will be able to see in both eyes!!!!!!!!What a blessing that would be!!! Keep praying everybody!!!
