Robert Simmons a 25 yr old mechanic at Hicks Muffler, was seriously injured Sunday in a 4-wheeler accident in the mountains of Oklahoma.  They took him to the hospital in Antlers, then CareFlighted him to Texarkana and he was finally CareFlighted to Little Rock. He has 3 broken vertebrae & nerve damage.  The drs have told him that he has a tremendous amount of nerve damage and would probably never return to work or be able to stand up straight again and would walk with a cane the rest of his life.  His operation was started this morning and he is still in surgery as of now.
Robert has a wife and 2 little girls and NO insurance.  There is a benefit account being set-up for him at First Federal.

Prayer Request Update - 4/26 - 9:13pm

Maurine Spencer sent this message today:  "Please add my grandfather to the prayer request list. His name is Richard Parker and he left his house in Aquilla, TX (by Lake Whitney) and has been missing since Saturday evening. He has a lot of trouble remembering things and gets confused very easily (probably the early stages of Alzheimer's) and we don't know that he could find his way back if he wanted to. He is diabetic and has high blood pressure so the longer he is gone, the more medically compromised he is as well. Please pray that he is safe and that we find him soon.  I've attached a picture because... well, when you're looking for one man who could be anywhere I guess it doesn't hurt to have his picture out there just in case."

Gary Border's Mom, Johnnie Border, is having mini-strokes and has been admitted to PRMC.  Don't know any other details at this moment.  Will update later.

Prayer Request Update - 4/21 - 9:26pm

Mike Shields (the preacher @ First Assembly of God across the
street) has had cancer for 4 years and has faught so hard.  The news he got today was not good.  The CT & MRI showed new tumors have begun to grow, where there had been none before.
I talked with his wife Judy tonight and she asks that we pray specifically for peace.  For both of them.  The doctors have never talked "time" with them before, but he did today.  Mike and Judy have a strong faith that with the power of prayer this nasty cancer will be gone!  Judy says that they want to believe God's report not a medical report!
This following message is what Bro. Mike wrote on facebook tonight:  "I certainly desire your prayers. The doctor told me things today that I didn't want to hear. According to the scans, there are numerous tumors now in my lungs and my liver. I know God is able, so now, we need to see Him work. I will begin chemo on May 10. Please stand with us in prayer during this time. The doctors can't operate or radiate, but My God can obliterate!"  So, here's the deal.  Stop.  Right now. Pray!

Hunter Harroff (grandson of the McClain's) broke his arm tonight, in 2 places.  Shawn & Lisa live in deep east Texas and are on their way to the hospital in Tyler for surgery.  No other details are known at this time.

Evelyn Perry's son, Kyle, was to have cancer surgery today.  They started, knew there was nothing they could do, and closed him back up.  Please keep the Perry family on your heart.

JoAnn Parkman's back surgery was a success and she is feeling well.

Prayer Request Update - 4/9 - 12:12pm

Kristi Garrett sent this message today:  "First of all... let me start by saying THANK YOU all so much for every prayer, thought, and word of encouragement.  It has meant more to us than you could know.
Landon is getting out of the hospital on the 20th.  He will go to base there in Anchorage for 30 days of physical therapy. After the 30 days are up... they will re-evaluate his progress and decide if he needs more therapy or if he can return to light duty. He is so determined and thankfully stubborn... so... he has progressed faster than they had anticipated.
He still does not have much movement in his right fingers... please continue to keep him in your prayers. He still has a tough road back to 100%... but... he is well on his way now.
Curtis is still with him. We have been very fortunate that one of us has been able to be with him during this entire hospital stay.
Thanks again... please continue to pray for Landon's recovery."

MiKyla Pickering's Mom posted a new blog this morning on her caringbridge site and asked that we specifically ... "Please keep REMISSION in your prayers for MiKyla. Also say a prayer for Jeramy (18 yrs) who just had a BMT (transplant). He has had a high fever today."
