Weekly Update - 3/20

Thank you Patrick for the lesson this morning, with the text coming from Matthew 14:22-36.  He asked if we could even imagine seeing someone walking on the water?
We would probably be as terrified as the disciples were!
*Storms reveal how strong we are!
*There are 366 times in the Bible where we are told "DO NOT FEAR".
*When we are in the storm, Jesus prays for us!
*Jesus comes to us, just like he did for the disciples... In the middle of the lake!  And He does this, because He loves us and we are His children!
What are the those scary waters that God is trying to help you through?

Update on Jerry Langley - 3/7 - 10:10 am

Jerry was unable to have the surgery on his hands, on Saturday.  Yesterday was an ok day today. He is still in and out from the pain medicines but is stable and vitals look good. There is a possibility to have hand surgery today, if his white blood cell count will decrease some. Please pray for his blood work to come back good today, so he can have his final surgery and get out of ICU. Kay is holding up pretty good. She is just tired but would never let anyone know! All of your prayers and love have been felt this past week.

He had surgery on his ankle this morning and all went good. He is still under sedation now. Tomorrow will be a 6-8 hour surgery to reconstruct his hands. Please continue praying for him and the doctors. Mom is holding up ok. Please pray for God to give her strength as well."

Just watch!!!

Update on Roxanne Raper - 3/4 - 9:55pm

Roxanne is being released from the hospital today!!!!

Update on Caleb Keele - 3/4 - 9:26am

Caleb had a rough night.  He was nauseated during the night so that meant lots of up and down. He is resting now. There is talk of possibly going home this afternoon. Mixed emotions about that. He is still making progress.

Prayer Request - 3/4

Linda Slawson asked that we add their daughter, Brianna and her family Casey DeLay and Blayden to the prayer list. "She is 19 weeks pregnant and we just received some very difficult information about the baby. Prayers for the Great Physicians hands to be upon our unborn baby."

Thursday, March 3, 2016

Update on Caleb Keele - 3/3 - 1:45PM

Caleb was in quite a bit of pain last night but they were able to keep him comfortable with meds.  He is really sore today and it is going to be a big day for him because they only want him in the bed to sleep.  So he will have to be up a lot more.  Progress is being made tho!  The youth group face timed him last night and that really lifted his spirits!

Update on Roxanne Raper - 3/3 - 1:43pm

She says that she is waiting on the doctor to come by.  Surgery was successful and they are now adjusting oxygen level and waiting on chest X-ray.

ALREADY????

Update on Roxanne Raper - 3/2 - 12:30pm

She says that she is feeling lots better today.  They did a test this morning to make sure that there were no leaks from the surgery. NONE!  Since the surgery was a bigger ordeal than they thought it was going to be, she will probably not get to come home until Friday, if then.  She said to tell everyone hi and thanks you all for the prayers!

Update on Caleb Keele - 3/2 - 12:15PM

Caleb had a good night.  Leslie said that he's watching a movie on the iPad.  He is a little apprehensive about getting up and around later today.  She said he feels good enough to be grumpy. (But so would anyone, who's had rods put in their back!)  The epidural comes out today and the oral meds begin.  Please keep Caleb and his family in your prayers!

Update on Jerry Langley - 3/2 - 12:0pm

Jerry is still in ICU and heavily sedated and on a ventilator. He has a broken shoulder blade, nose, both hands, leg in two spots, and ankle. He had some internal bleeding earlier in the week and had surgery to correct. Today they are going back into his abdomen to make sure the first surgery to correct the internal bleeding took. He will need several other surgeries over the next few days to fix all the bones. Kay is doing ok and got some much needed rest last night. Please continue praying for the Jerry and the family.

Tuesday, March 1, 2016

Update on Roxanne Raper - 3/1- 8pm

Roxanne came through surgery fine.  The doctor is very happy with how everything went. She is in room 1531 at Baylor. She is very tired.

Update on Jerry Langley - 3/1 - 3pm

This was posted on their facebook page.  I'd had lots of people asking about what had happened...

Jerry was on his way to work Monday morning on his motorcycle when he had a serious accident. The police don't believe another vehicle was involved. A motorist stop when they spotted him in a ditch & called 911, the police called Jerry's employer who called Kay at work. Jerry has suffered a broken nose, broken clavicle (wh
ich will heal on it's own in a sling),
both hands are broken, a broken leg & ankle and internal bleeding. At 1:30 yesterday Kay called to let me know & he was in surgery at that time, they were looking for what was causing the bleeding, finally found the problem close to the colon. They did not close the wound but are leaving it open in case they need to go back in, he is intubated & sedated. They want to keep him like this until at least Wednesday or possibly longer just depends on how things go. Kay called me at 5 am this morning saying it had been a rough night. JD's blood pressure dropped so low they ended up giving him 3 pints of blood and he had started bleeding again so they are trying to find out where it is coming from again.
Surgery is to be done sometime today on his leg & ankle. If nothing else happens. They Are meeting with the hand surgeon sometime today, don't know yet when they will do the hands.
Wendy stayed with her Mom all day and Jody drove in from Lubbock and his employer has stated he is to stay as long as he is needed. Kay's boss came to the hospital and told her the same thing. Thank you Lord for the children being able to help.
Please pray for the surgeon's and staff that are helping Jerry and pray for God to reach down and lay his healing hands on JD. The Lord has all the power and can do all things as long as we believe. Pray for Kay & the children . I will post on their timeline as information comes in. Kay will be calling with updates. Please don't get your feelings hurt if you call & she doesn't answer....in ICU phones don't always work. They are blessed with many friends and they love us all, but she received so many calls yesterday Jody had to call some back,Kay was just exhausted . I promise to post as information becomes available and she will be checking her timeline so she will see your messages she just may not respond for a while.
Let's all contact our Prayer Warriors and pray, pray, PRAY.
