Nada Mehmeti (one of the owners of Capizzi's) has been diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer.  Please keep her and her husband Benny in your prayers.

If you signed up to host a "trunk" tonight...be sure to be at the church building between 5:30-6:00pm to pick up your treats, then drive to the church baseball lot, circle up and be ready for the crowd to begin at 7pm!  Our congregation children can go through the line at 6:30pm!  Hope to see you there!

Oneida Stimpson requested prayers for her vision. She's been having poor night vision and now is experiencing double vision. She'll see a doctor on November 29th.

Dianna Welch is in PRMC-ER with kidney stones.
(Yep, she AND Emma are in the ER at the same time.)

URGENT Prayer Request - 10/30 - 8:55pm

Please pray for Emma McCarter.  Michael & Lindsay have taken her to PRMC-ER.  She and Kaitlyn were jumping on the trampoline and she either twisted or sprang her ankle.  It's very swollen and she can't put any weight on it.

Weekly Update - 10/30 - 6:12pm

TRUNK OR TREAT is tomorrow night (Monday).  Please pick up your treats at the church building by 5:30-6:00pm, then drive out to the church baseball field, circle up and be ready for the public at 7pm.  Children from our congregation usually go through about 6:30pm. 
This is a GREAT outreach and everyone always has so much fun!  We'll see you there!


Dinah Border is in need of large, plastic buckets with lids. Plastic ice cream buckets work well to freeze dressing for our Thanksgiving meal. (Please leave in the OutReach bldg.)

SIMPLE SUPPER: This weeks' entree is "Mama's Meatloaf". Please donate at least $2 per person. If you weren't able to sign-up on Sunday morning, and want to join us, call the church office by noon on Tuesday.

PANTRY NEEDS:  Cereal, Pasta and Spaghetti Sauce.
These are the items routinely stocked in the pantry, and can always be used: Any type of canned meat (tuna, chicken, Spam, Ham, vienna sausage), canned vegetables, canned fruit, spaghetti and sauce peanut butter/jelly, macaroni/cheese, hot/cold cereal, cornbread mix, 1 lb pkgs of beans/rice and crackers.

Keith & Charolette Bollman are proud to announce the birth of their new granddaughter!
Berkley Ann Brown, weighed in at 8 lbs 7 oz. and was 20 3/4 inches.  Mom and baby are well.
Patrick & Annie Brown are her parents of a new baby girl.

Prayer Requests - 10/26 - 8:17pm

Lee McClain has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Alan Boyd is recuperating at home following his foot surgery in Tyler.  He will have pain stimulator surgery on November 4th.
Elizabeth Shew had a light stroke and is in PRMC/South - Room 513.  She has requested limited visits.

Phyllis Giguere will be transferred to Baylor hospital on Friday, November 4th, and will have surgery that same afternoon at 3pm.

Leslie Keele asked for prayers for her co-worker, Michelle Widner.  Michelle's son, Jay, was killed in Afghanistan 2 years ago and Hwy. 271 North has been renamed "Sgt. Jay M. Hoskins Highway".  The signs went up today and the official opening will be November 10th.  (It extends from the red light, just north of the overpass to the Texas/Oklahoma state line.)  It's been an emotional day for Michelle and just needs our prayers.

Also, Leslie asked for prayers for their family friend, Jeremiah Robertson and his children as they are dealing with some difficult family matters.

A friend of mine from Clarksville, Charles Smith, had a heart attack over the weekend and will have triple by-pass surgery on Thursday at PRMC/North.  Please keep Charles and his wife Brenda in your prayers.

Webber's cousin, Adam King, is back in PRMC/S/ICU and on dialysis. 

My friend, Carolyn Lockett's daughter-in-law, Kenya Edwards, has been diagnosed with colon cancer, which has spread to her lungs and she is in Stage 4.  Her first surgery is November 4th in Dallas. She has 2 children, 9 and 11 years old.

Our sympathy is extended to Chris & Linda Easton in the passing of his Mom, Coy Easton.  Her services were today.

PRAISE:  David Nelson (Charlotte Grooms' brother) his tumors are shrinking!


Dinah Border is in need of large, plastic buckets with lids.  Plastic ice cream buckets work well to freeze dressing for our Thanksgiving meal.  (Please leave in the OutReach bldg.)

5th SUNDAY FORMAT: Sunday, Oct 30 we will have classes at 9am, worship at 10am followed by a pot luck lunch in the OutReach Bldg. We will enjoy a devotional and singing after lunch and not have an evening service at the building. John Cannon will be the guest speaker.

SIMPLE SUPPER: This weeks' entree is Cavatini.  Please donate at least $2 per person. If you weren't able to sign-up on Sunday morning, and want to join us, call the church office by noon on Tuesday.

PRAISE:  A young man from Roxton, Brad Hattanville, has been waiting for a kidney transplant for a long time.  He will receive it this evening!

Dinah Border's friends' 16 year old granddaughter, Devon Bryant, is seriously ill and will be going to Scottish Rite Hospital on Monday.  She has severe R.A. and seizures.  Please keep Devon, her Mom and Grandmother in your prayers.

Coy Easton, mother of Chris Easton, passed away at Brentwood Terrace Nursing Home this morning. 
Visitation will be at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home on Sunday night 6pm-8pm.  Graveside services will be Monday afternoon at Evergreen Cemetery at 2pm.

Johnny Nabors is still in PRMC/S.  Still has not seen second Dr.

Phyllis Giguere is now in Health South Rehab - 2800 West 15th - Plano 75075.  The phone number in her room is 972-612-9258.  Phyllis is having more intense rehab at this facility.  Since her surgery, she's gone from 4 ft. 6 in. to 4 ft. 10 1/2 inches!  WoooHOOOO!

Anna Zant's daughter, Kenda Felker, is in a hospital in Dallas for tests and steroids.  Anna's Mom, Chris Mashburn, is in PRMC/North.

Clint & Rachel Spencer are proud to announce the birth of Baby Girl Spencer.  She arrived at 6:27am this morning, weighing 8 lbs, 12 oz and 21 inches long.  Both mommy and baby are doing great.  (They are still making us wait on the name though!)  PRAISE GOD for a sweet new healthy miracle!!

Johnny Nabors is still in PRMC/S, may get to go home tomorrow.  Loretta said that his finger is better, swelling is down, white count is getting better, but, Johnny said it's still hurting.  The Dr. thinks he has a bad case of cellulitis.  They are going to have a second Dr. have a look at it.

Brad Shelton (former member) was released from the hospital today to come home!

Sue Munday came through her surgery just fine.  She's at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.  She expects to be in the hospital for 2-3 days.

Johnny Nabors is in PRMC-South, Room 511. He has been having pain and swelling of the middle finger on his left hand. Dr. Trammel decided to put him into the hospital today to start an IV. He has had quite a bit of pain and is nauseated. They do not have a diagnosis yet.

WOW!  Jared Baggett you did an awesome job this morning!  I would be willing to guess, that if you asked everyone there today, they would have thought you brought that lesson JUST for them!  We all have storms in our lives, but with God on our side, we can weather those storms!

  • Alan Boyd's next surgery is Tuesday, Oct. 25th, on his foot.  He will have a CAT scan this week to determine when they will be able to schedule the surgery for the replacement of the pain leads.

  • Jerry McClour as he faces some personal issues this week.
  • Lorene Butler, Jerry McFadden's Mom, is in the hospital.
  • Lillian Welch, Mark Welch and Diane McFadden's Mom, is having severe weakness.
  • Brad Shelton is still in the Heart Hospital/Plano, recovering from bypass surgery last Thursday.
  • Virginia Cammack, Jill Faires' grandmother, as she recovers from a stroke.
  • Terry Rogers is the preacher at the Family Worship Center.  He is having major health problems.
  • David Nelson, Charlotte Grooms' brother, has lung cancer and is going to the Dr. this Tuesday hoping for good news.
  • Dinah Border asked for prayers for Bryant Rowland, as he is having health issues.

Sherrie Boyd sent this message:  "An employee of mine, here at Campbell Soup, requested we put his Pastor on our prayer list. Terry Rogers is the Pastor at the Family Worship Center.  He has had some colon problems.  After 3 months they put everything back together and now something has burst.  His blood pressure dropped.  They nearly lost him yesterday.  He has been taken to a Tyler hospital."

Prayer Request - 10/14 - 1:05pm

Kristy Rodgers Mom, Wanda Baker, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, at Paris Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Starrett Funeral Home has scheduled funeral services for 10:00 a.m. Saturday October 15, 2011 in the auditorium of Sterling High School, Sterling, Oklahoma, with Rev. Michael Dye officiating. Interment will follow in the Sterling Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 Friday at the Fletcher Funeral Home, Fletcher, Oklahoma.

Prayer Requests - 10/14 - 9:37pm

Mike Grigsby has been released from PRMC/South.  He had a bad fall yesterday afternoon and was taken to ER.  They did EKG, CAT Scan and X-rays and he also had another seizure. 

Ora Henderson is in PRMC/North - Room 467.

Brad Shelton (former member) is in ICU at the Heart Hospital of Plano.  He had by-pass surgery yesterday afternoon.  He came out of surgery at 6pm and is doing well.

Dinah's Retirement - 10/13 - 10:10am

Dinah Border (Mama D) is retiring today from our church office.  She started as a volunteer 14 years ago and then became regular staff 9 years ago.
What a asset she has been!  We are going to miss your sweet smile and your always helpful attitude!  Thank you for your tireless days and never ending servant heart!
Take good care of yourself and Mr. Border and enjoy your mornings out in Cottonwood!

Phyllis Giguere is doing better.  She now has the wound vac off!  They will be moving her to Health South Rehab/Plano for more aggressive rehab.

Continue to keep Jerry and April McClour on your hearts.  They are dealing with some personal issues and need your prayers.

Brad Shelton (former member) is in the Plano Heart Hospital and will have by-pass surgery this afternoon (Thursday).

Thank you to Loretta Nabors!  She donated cards to the Wednesday Night For The Master in memory of her Mom, Dorothy Hyman.  During her last days Miss Dorothy loved getting cards...and she saved every one of them!!

PRAISE REPORT - 10/12 - 1:10pm

Lesa Bulls' sent this PRAISE REPORT from her co-worker, Sherry Barnes, whose husband, Gary, we have been praying for the last few months:  "Please allow me to share some terrific news that my husband, Gary, and I received this week. We traveled to Baylor on Monday for his 7th chemo treatment for lymphoma plus a PET scan to assess how effective the treatments have been so far. The scan was CLEAR, no cancer and no infection!!!!! With 3 more treatments left and this good report, we are seeing brighter days ahead. We remain humbled and immensely grateful for the thoughts and prayers that have been offered up for Gary and I both.  'Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us.'~~Romans 8:37"

Our co-worker Holly Scott, her husband Marty and their daughter, Kimber are on their way to Children's Medical/Dallas.  Dr.Cuttrell did tests on Kimber today and she was positive for Type 1 Diabetes. We do not know much, but she will plan on being there a couple of days to get her medication set up. Please keep them in your prayers for a safe trip and the strength they need to take care of Kimber!

Patsy Elliott broke her shoulder a week ago at school.  She has to keep it immobile for 2-3 weeks.

  • Phyllis Giguere continues to be at Life Care Hospital/Plano. She is continuing to recover from back surgery.
  • Keely Kennedy for Ashleigh Kennedy.  Ashleigh has been making bad choices.
  • For Chris Easton's Mom, Coy Easton and her family.  For comfort and peace.
  • Lisa Bulls for her cousin Betty Brockington.  She has brain cancer and has begun hospice.
  • Curt Poore for Ronald Prince with pancreatic cancer.  He only has 6-8 months to live.
  • Lindsay McCarter for her Mom, Dianna Welch.  PRAISE for the good test results!  Continued prayers for recovery and healing without infection.
  • Lindsay McCarter for Donna Archer.  PRAISE for treatments going well!  She's now waiting on stem cell transplant.
  • Mike & Renee Crews for his aunt, Elizabeth Melton. Still on a ventilator but improving a little each day.  Still needs prayers that she will continue doing well.
  • Richard Logan for his daughter, Sarah Shaffer, that she has a safe pregnancy.  Also, his brother Alan Logan, that he makes better choices.
  • Sharon Thielman for her friend Vanessa Bills, who was in an accident 2 years ago and is still having legal issues with that.  She also needs prayers that she can walk again. 
  • Christi Rodger's Mom, Wanda Baker, had a massive brain bleed on Saturday night.
  • Webber Woodall's cousin, Adam King, is in PRMC/ICU.  Possible septic shock.  This is from complications from a 4-wheeler accident 10 years ago.

Bobby Barnes of Roxton passed away Monday afternoon at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are pending with Delta Funeral Home, Cooper.  (His wife Jana is a retired teacher from Roxton.)

Roxanne Raper came through her foot surgery this morning GREAT!  They did fix the arch and she does have lots of pins and screws.  She's in a cast to her knee for now, then will go to boot.  It's going to take at least 6 months for her to heal.  She should come home tomorrow.

Stacie Wood is taking her Mom, Barbara Campbell, to the Baylor/Plano ER at this time.  Barbara is having the same symptoms that she did this summer.  Please pray for their safety as they travel, as well as for the doctors and nurses working with Barbara.

  • Jerry and April McClour went forward this morning asking for prayers for their faith and for some personal issues they are going through.
  • Misty Ray will have a heart procedure on Wednesday at Baylor/Dallas.
  • Alan Boyd is getting his cast off this Wednesday and then he will be having 2 more surgeries this month.  The main lead for his pain has come loose and they will need to go back in to replace it and at the end of the month they will perform another foot surgery.
  • Dianna Welch is at home recovering from surgery.
  • Roxanne Raper will be having surgery on her foot on October 10th
  • Coy Easton (Chris Easton's Mom) is in Brentwood Terrace with hospice.
  • Phyllis Giguereis at Life Care Hospital/Plano. She is continuing to recover from back surgery.
  • Linda Hostetler is having health issues.
  • Carolyn Drake (co-worker at FFCB) is having difficulties with her fibromyalgia.
  • Kari Ann Cannon's Mom, Karan Bridgwater, is in Germany working on the "Let's Start Talking"  ministry program.

Once again we will be hosting the children of our community with a safe and fun filled alternative to Halloween.  If you would like to don a costume, decorate your car and join in the fun, please sign-up at the Welcome Center.  Participants will arrive at the building to pick up their treats by 5:30-6:00pm, then proceed to the church ball field to circle up their cars and get ready for the public at 7pm.  This activity is a lot of fun for everyone involved.
