URGENT PRAYER REQUEST - 10/29

Posted by Jay last night:  "Just got a call from Austin, at emergency room in Conway, AR. He passed out and team mates rushed him to ER. I'm on my way out the door. Everyone is worried since Kristi's episode a year ago. KRISTI also is upset because she cannot go. PRAY PLEASE - the Anthony's

Posted by Jay this morning:  "Here with Austin at hospital in Conway. He had chest pains, passed out and hit his head. Tests came back good, but so did Matt and Kristi's. Drs are not concerned and say he's a healthy 19 yr old athlete. Cannot get them to call EP cardiologist. They dont understand potential gravity of situation. PRAY for help n wisdom here please...Jay"

Posted by Jay this afternoon:  "A doctor talked with Austin's EP!!! They will discharge him with a 30 day heart monitor. NO BASKETBALL....He enforced the point! Bad news again, but NOT the worst news he's ever had to face. The doctor reminded him that a sport is not worth his life. Prayers Please - Jay"

Posted by Jay tonight:  "One of the most difficult things I've ever had to do...Much like the day I had to leave Kristi at Pate Rehab. Tonight I had to leave Austin in Conway after a long night and day of uncertainly at the hospital.
We still don't have any answers and it may be weeks to come before we have any at all. All we know for certain is that Austin had chest pains and passed out last night. We are nervous and concerned. The test results don't really help yet. We know it was not dehydration. There are two EP's looking at his case. It very well may never reappear and WE KNOW GOD IS IN CONTROL.

Austin has so many prayers going up by you all and so many have made contact with us today. Thank you. Please ask God for Austin's good health. He is dealing well with having to take a break from basketball but he still has concerns due to Kristi's condition as well as worrying about her and having to fulfill his school duties. Thank you all - Jay"

Love you - MEAN IT!

It's almost time....

Thank you to those who have volunteered to decorate a trunk for our annual 'Trunk or Treat' event!
We will get started around 7 PM and we encourage our volunteers to get to the church as close to 6 PM as possible. Candy will be provided to you when you arrive.
If it is dry you will drive over to the back lot and you will be directed where to go.
There is a good chance that we will have to move the festivities indoors (The gym area).  It may be storming and/or too muddy to do so outside.  If that is the case, we will set up tables and everyone will decorate a table instead of their trunk.  The logistics are being worked out, but all you will have to do is show up and get ready to pass out some sugary snacks!

She's here!!!!

Miss Maggie Grace Daniels arrived today at 1:20pm.
She weighed in at 7 pounds and 7 ounces and is 20.5 inches long.
Josh and Jessica Daniels are the proud parents and Lexi is the VERY proud big sister!
Grandparents are Joe and Kathy Daniels!
(As a reminder....it is flu season and no children are allowed...except siblings.)

Update on Kristi Anthony - 10/23

Update from Jay yesterday:  "Horrible day...Kristi's PT is getting cut tremendously due to medical terminology. One of her doctors insisted that the additional PT is necessary to maintain her strength until her cognitive abilities catch up. It looks like her aquatic therapy may be cut out as well for the same reasons. PLEASE PRAY FOR INTERVENTION!"

This was today's update:  "There was some VERY incorrect information reported about Kristi's progress and abilities which is making it extremely difficult for Kristi to have her much needed and very necessary therapy approved by insurance. We knew that something was wrong but could not get any answers until a doctor explained the situation to us. The insurance company now has completely false information. We are currently trying to get doctors to send notes to help build the case. KRISTI NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS NOW! PLEASE PRAY WITH TENACITY that Kristi's therapy will not be cut down (or possibly even out) and that it will be reapproved without any lapse! She needs this to get well. Please we are asking for your URGENT prayers to the Father - the Anthony's"

    Special Requests.....

Rachel Spencer sent these 2 requests:
    • 6 of our members will be traveling to Niteroi, Brazil, November 6-12 to visit our missionaries, Brent and Jill Nichols. While we are there, we are going to be helping with a women's conference. Jill asked if we could bring small things to put in a gift basket for each woman attending. So we are collecting travel-sized shampoos, conditioners, lotions, or other small items that could go in a little gift basket for the ladies. If you have anything like this, please give it to Carole Anderson or me (Rachel).
    • Also, Brent and Jill are having another baby boy in January! We want to take them a gift from the church, and we found out that they actually need a new car seat, so we are going to purchase that here and take it with us, along with a couple of personalized gifts for the baby. If you can chip in on the car seat, or if you have any another (small) gift to send for the baby, you can give it to me. Or you can drop it by the church office with Laura or Kim.

    The Perfect Church
If you should find the perfect church
    Without one fault or smear,
    For goodness sake! Don't join that church;
    You'd spoil the atmosphere.

If you should find the perfect church
    Where all anxieties cease
Then pass it by, lest joining it
    You'd mar the masterpiece.

If you should find the perfect church
    Then don't you ever dare,
    To tread upon such holy ground;
    You'd be a misfit there.

But since no perfect church exists
    Made of imperfect men,
Then let's cease looking for that church
And love the church we're in.
Of course, it's not a perfect church,
    That's simple to discern
But you and I and all of us
Could cause the tide to turn.

What fools we are to flee our post
    In that unfruitful search
To find at last where problems loom
    God proudly builds His church.

So let's keep working in our church
    Until the resurrection.
And then we each will join that church
    Without an imperfection.

Update on Kristi Anthony - 10/9

Posted by Austin last night:  "It's almost been a year. A year since November 16,2012. A whole year!? I literally can't believe that. Though as I lay here tonight I have finally been blessed with the answer I've been searching for 11 months. "Why?" Why did this happen? The devil said hey ill tear that family apart, I'll take their mom. That'll turn them away from God! Well call me crazy but I think God said go ahead, but you won't succeed, you can't overcome Me. He didn't either. Maybe he thought he did. Maybe he thought that when Kristi Anthony was laying in a hospital bed for two weeks with hardly a sign of life that he had won. Maybe the devil thought that when she woke up it was even better because she would never be herself again. Maybe when she got up out of that wheelchair for the first time and gave her sons a hug, he thought that's as far as she'll ever go! Maybe he saw the pain in a family's eyes when the progress was slow. Maybe he thought by keeping her 100 miles away he could beat their Faith in God. Maybe he made them struggle, maybe he made them hurt, but unfortunately for them they have but one God. A God who created the universe, a God who is mocked every day, a God who is taunted by the devil and sin every day. But a God who laughs at the foolish and the non believers selfish ways. A God who said you can tempt them, you can test them, but they are mine. Take her earthly body and strength away but one day, one beautiful and magnificent day, they will all walk the shores of Paradise with me while you burn in eternity. -Austin"

On a personal note....Jimmy is one of the kindest people you'd ever want to meet and Derald is right, he always has a smile on his face.  Please keep the doctors and nurses in your prayers as they make this wonderful Christian man well!

Update on Kristi Anthony - 10/4

Posted by Jay this morning:  "This morning I couldn't stop thinking about what my life would have been like if it was "normal", if November 16, 2012 would have never happened. As I went through each step of the day as if it were normal again I kept witnessing the unselfish deeds that my beautiful wife did on a daily basis for our family. Nothing she did was for herself; it was all for us.

I was such a fool before November 16, 2012. God had blessed me with the perfect help mate. The one that He had created specifically for me. I took that for granted and never stopped to consider the blessing that I had been given until I "lost" her. Why am I bearing my soul? Because God put this on my heart today as I reflected on the "what if's". He showed me that there were others out there that needed to hear my message.

Men...PLEASE stop taking your wife for granted. Show her the love and respect that she deserves and that God expects you to return to her. God wants you to appreciate the best gift that He has blessed you with beyond His Son. Tell her today how much you love her BUT much better yet SHOW her. You don't want to learn this the hard way BELIEVE ME. - God is in Control - Jay"
