Prayer Requests 6/26

  • Wanda McFadden was taken to prmc yesterday with high blood pressure. She was released today and is resting at home.
  • Benette Russell is home and feeling better after her stay at the hospital in Fort Worth last Sunday. Her short-term memory is slowly returning. She thanks everyone for their prayers and concerns.
  • Nelda Skinner is in room 464 at prmc with a staph infection. She may go home tomorrow.
  • Dan Roffee's mother Carla Roffee has just been diagnosed with cancer in the lymph nodes she will have surgery soon Dan is flying out Monday to be with her in California.
  • Carol James has broken her knee in two places. She is in a brace right now and thankful that at the moment no surgery is needed.

Prayer Request - 6/26

Carol James broke the side of her foot in September and now has broken her knee in two places.
She said ... "I think my picture is by the word clumsy in the dictionary."

Update on my son...

My son Larry saw the cardiologist again this morning.  Even with all the life changes he's made and the meds he's been on, the doctor said his heart is still weak.  He will have another echocardiogram scheduled next month and before that he will have an angiogram scheduled on the 8th. Depending on how that goes, they may put a stent in him that day, but if it’s worse then he'll have to have a pace maker. He doesn't want him exercising, no added stress on his heart. Walking is still ok. (Supposedly his heart is so weak that if he puts too much stress on it he could drop anytime.)
Please pray for my Larry.  Thank you!

Prayer Request 6/25

Nelda Skinner was admitted to PRMC this afternoon with an infection in her hand.

Update on Benette Russell - 6/25

Kevin sent this message: Benette is home doing much better, resting today (after she finishes the list of chores I gave her😁😁).
She spent Sunday night in the hospital in Fort Worth, lived to tell about the ride home with Holland.
We asked lots of questions, we got fewer answers.
But, we learn to keep trusting in God for our answers.
Thank you for all your prayers and concerns and we appreciate continued prayers.

Update on Chris Hutson - 6/25

Chris Hutson had surgery this morning on his foot and all went well. He will be in a boot for a while but expects recovery to go smoothly. Cyndi Hutson appreciates all the prayers on his behalf.

Weekly Update - 6/23

Summer In The Psalms... Randy spoke to us this morning about  "Living With God", with the text taken from Psalm 15.

I.    A critical question. (15:1)
II.   A challenging answer. (15:2-5a)
III.  A comforting conclusion. (15:5b)

Points to Ponder:
1.  This psalm should cause us to contemplate our theology.
2.  Three basic areas of life are emphasized:
      a. Blameless character
      b. Righteous conduct
      c. Truthful conversation
3.  Reflect on this portrait and take note of your own life.
4.  The "worship" described here moves beyond Sunday to Monday through Saturday.

Update on Billy Icenhower 6/11

Billy continues to have dialysis 3 times a week. Also trying to increase his energy level as well as his appetite. As of last week his weight had dropped to 130 lbs but he gained 8 lbs this week. Praising God for small things.

Update on Kim Maxfield 6/11

Kim posted this update:  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your cards, texts, visits, food and especially for your prayers! The LORD knew I would need them even more than I thought. The surgery to repair my broken back was more extensive than anticipated so the recuperation time will be longer. We are back in Paris now. I can already tell improvement. I no longer have a tendency to lean backwards and can dress myself now. On a lighter note I found out why everyone says “I’m so special.” 😆 Counting from the top down normally you have 12 ribs and 12 vertebrae but I have an extra vertebrae that's not even connected to a rib! So the doctor was hesitant to even call it a "thoracic vertebrae." The repairs were literally made to L1 and T13 because my T12 is actually above that. Thanks again! Love y’all so much!!

Weekly Update - 6/9

Thank you Randy for the message from Psalm 1.  He reminded us of the famous quote by Yogi Berra. "When you come to a fork in the road, take it." Meaning we always have two choices!
This summer Randy will be bringing messages from some of our members favorite Psalms.

The Two Ways - Psalm 1
I.   The Way of the righteous (1-3)
II   The Way of the unrighteous (4-5)
III. A parting of the ways (6)

Points to Ponder
1.  Life consists of choices.
2.  Don't be absorbed by the world, rather absorb the word of God.
3.  Remember Lot. (Genesis 13 & 14 Lot and Abram)
4.  A question: what preoccupies my time?
5.  Be a blessing to someone this week.
6.  There will be a judgment.
