Update on Sherry Welch 7/21

Sherry posted this update at 9pm:  I wanted to update everyone about my visit with Dr. Schoenvogel in Dallas this morning. I liked the doctor immediately (a miracle right there!) I had picked up a disk that was supposed to contain all the info he would need. Unfortunately it was missing the main info, the CT. So I had to come back, pick up another disk & mail it to him. But while we (Tanya and i) were there, we discussed the possibility of cryosurgery, and he said IF the CT doesn't show that the tumor is too deep or located where it would interfere with the kidney's job of blood gathering & dispensing, then cryosurgery would be an excellent option. A date and time was set for this procedure: high noon, August 17. He will call me as soon as he gets the disk that I mailed this afternoon, and tell me whether we can move forward with the cryosurgery, or if part or all of the kidney will have to be removed. Since it is functioning perfectly, I'd really like to keep it, so my prayer request from those of you who pray, is for the tumor to be located in the optimal place for cryosurgery. I will update when I hear from the doctor. I just want to thank everyone for the many prayers, calls, & notes of concern. Until you need it, you just can't imagine how it bolsters you & helps you stay positive. I love you all and thank you so much! ❤

He WILL Deliver!

Update on Julie Rook - 7/20

Julie is out of surgery and the doctor is pleased and happy with the way surgery went.

9:05pm:  Julie and Jeff are at home!

Please continue the prayers for her as she heals and then begins 8-12 weeks of radiation.

Prayer Request - 7/20

This message is from Sherry Welch:  "Calling all prayer warriors! I will be seeing a doctor in Dallas tomorrow at 10 for a treatment plan for Renal Cell Carcinoma in my right kidney. I pray for it to be a "simple" (although it's only "minor" or "simple" if it's done on someone else!) cryosurgery, wherein the tumor would be frozen and eventually gobbled up and carried away by little warrior white blood cells (what an awesome God to have created everything to work like this), leaving only a tiny scar tissue in its place. I would appreciate your prayers during this time. I feel fine, just like before I knew this was going on inside me. It is not the cause of my weight loss. I went to my NP for a regular HbA1C checkup (5.9!!! yea!!!) and another issue that has been giving me problems and is the more likely cause of the weight loss. She wanted me to have a CT, which showed the tumor in my kidney, totally unexpected. It is tiny, but a biopsy last Thursday verified renal cell carcinoma, which is the most common kind of kidney cancer. A PET scan will be done to determine if any rogue cells are running around in me, and I pray they are not. All my bloodwork fell within normal ranges, and without the CT we would not have known about this little booger until much later.I was told to just keep on doing what I do every day, not to let this disrupt my activities. I'm so thankful I won't have to give up my reading and crochet!!! lol  Seriously, though, I covet your prayers to the Great Physician that all will be well."

Downtown Food Pantry - 7/20
