Weekly Update - 7/31

What a celebration we had today!
Twelve of our member are 90 plus years old!  We sang their favorite songs and Patrick talked about their favorite verses.
Those we celebrated were:  Bill Jones, Evelyn Perry, Johnny Houser, Louise Peace, Naomi Bassett, Ozella Lilly, Peggy Wright, Sarah Smith, Wanda McFadden, Dorothy Hamil, Gerald Doty and Elizabeth Shew.
Thank you to Kim Hanley for all your hard work on the video...it was WONDERFUL! 
Thank you Tanya Welch and Benette Holland for the beautiful decorations!

SYMPATHY: 
We were saddened to learn about the passing of Paige Parker. She was the daughter of past long time members here at LACOC, Jim & Delores Parker. No other details are known at this time.
Margie Champion's aunt, Lillie Champion, passed away this week.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
Butch Mills - Has pneumonia and is PRMC.
Lance Johnson - ALS  PRMC/Room 326 acute-care.  Visits are welcome! He will be there 7-14 days.
Sherry Welch - Cancer - scheduled for surgery on Aug. 17th.
Webber Woodall - Was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease this week.  Will see neuro-surgeon on Aug. 18th.
Julie Rook - Recovering from cancer surgery
Horace Johnson - Recovering from surgery
Harley and Lucy Staley - Health
Carl Melton - Health
Joel Casey - Health
Louise Peace - Health
Kristi Anthony - Mental and physical health.
Ricky Harlan - Has been in ICU this week, but now in a regular room. (Works for Wayne Kerby.)
Suzie Roden - Had open heart surgery and now in rehab. (Marcus Roden's sister)
Irene Nichols - Is in Heritage House in have condition.  (Pat Bestel's Mom)
Susan George's brother-in-law, Bill George, received his liver transplant this week and is doing well.
Carol McMillan - Cancer - Molly's niece.

DIRECTORY PICTURESOur dates have filled up and we have opened up a second session for directory pictures on August 25th, 26th, and 27th. You can schedule on your own from your phone or home computer. Go to our church website lacoc.org and click on the Life Touch banner. Sign up SOON!

PANTRY NEEDSWe provided food for over 30 families in need just this past week. Our pantry shelves are nearly empty!! Anything you can help with would be much appreciated!! Here is a list of suggested food items: peanut butter, jelly, cereal, soup, spaghetti sauce, canned vegetables, crackers, macaroni & cheese, canned meat, canned fruit. Other items needed are: toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant and shampoo.

CHRISTIAN RADIOSunday mornings 7:30AM to 8:00AM on KOYN 93.9, Jimmy Newman will be preaching on the radio for shut-in’s and anyone else who wants to tune in. Also, on Mondays thru Fridays you can tune in to 99.7 or 100.9FM from 6AM to 10AM and hear Heath Anderson, son of Carol and Lewis Anderson, host Christian Radio.

M.A.G.I. BOXESWe had a great response to our M.A.G.I project filling over 150 boxes for children. Thank you to everyone for who participated in this and especially to Linda Erwin, who heads this up each year and to James Hanley, who will deliver the boxes soon to Carrollton where they will be shipped to other countries.
