It has been really hard on Sean."  Click here to read the information I found on the web.

She is in remission from pancreatic cancer she had at age 14. At that time her spleen and over 60% of her pancreas were removed They gave her 1 to 3 years to live and said the cancer would come back. She's on year 4, but her immune system is very weak and she is not doing well at all. The cancer is not back yet that they know of, but she is still very sick. She has missed a lot of school. • Charlie Parkman went home from the hospital today.  He has a treatable condition, but it is not curable.

Prayer Request Update - 12/1 - 9:23pm

Please keep little Payden Daniels in your prayers over the next couple of days.  He will be admitted to Children's Medical Center/Dallas for 48 hours observation.
You're going to think that this is a "strange" prayer request - but please pray that one of the episodes happens while they are there, in the hospital, and he's hooked up to the machine.
He only gets a 30 minute playtime in the morning and a 30 minute playtime in the evening - the rest of the time they are in a confined room.  You know this will be hard on a 3 yr old, and his Mommy.  So, please also pray for Kimberly as she is nervous about this and yet she wants them to find out what's causing these new seizures.

(This picture will give you an idea of what this little guy goes through while he's there - this was taken back in the Spring, on his last visit. There are numerous electrodes attached to his head, then they wrap it with gauze, they are then attached to a machine that he has to carry that the electrodes are hooked up to....then it's attached to the wall, sort of like he's a leash.)

Prayer Request Update - 12/1 - 12:43pm

Charlie Parkman is in PRMC/South - Room 315.  He was admitted yesterday afternoon, after a bone scan showed his blood count was really low.  His Parkinson's medication may be interferring with his blood cell production.  They are giving him a blood transfusion today.  They will be discussing with the doctors, his options going forward, as this is life threatening.  Charlie asks for our prayers.
Just a note:  If you have any idea that you may be ill - please don't go visit Mr. Charlie.  Thanks!

Kimberly Daniels is waiting for Children's Medical Center/Dallas to get back in touch with her so they can get Payden admitted for observation.  He had another seizure last night and the neurologist increased his meds for his night dose.  Please keep, not only Payden but, Kimberly in your prayers.

Jan Jenkot (former member, who's daughter Jamie just passed away last month), had a heart attack sometime over the holiday week.  She was hospitalized Sunday in Durant and sent to OKC yesterday.  They put in 2 stints - 99% blockage in one & 90% in the other.  (They did the procedure where they went through her wrist, not her groin.)  She is doing great and will come home today.  Please keep this family on your hearts as Jan recovers.

Phil Fletcher (friend of the Bulls) is continuing to be in Medical City/Dallas.  He had an allergic reaction to a heart rhythm medication that has injured his lungs severely.  (They have trouble holding oxygen.)  He is in a drug induced coma to try to hellp his lungs repair themselves.  This may take as long as 7-8 weeks if successful.  His wife Carolyn asks that we please keep him in our prayers.

There's so much sickness going around right now - please take care of yourself!

Sunday, November 29, 2009

FAMILY RETREAT THIS WEEKEND! 11/16 - 3:47pm

I received this from Jered today - he wanted to make sure that everyone knew where to go and what to expect:  "As you know the Family Retreat is this weekend November 20-22 at Beavers Bend State Park Group Site 2. If you have never been before there are maps at the welcome center. Also, the only cost is for your family's meals unless your are bringing an RV. Bringing an RV is around $15 per night. We will add all the meal cost up at the retreat and then let you know there what you owe. Each family writes a check to the church for their meal amount. Loretta Nabors will collect the money at the retreat from families on Saturday. We don't have a leader this year but we have several families helping divide up the responsibilities. We have three meal leaders. Kyle Jones is doing Saturday breakfast. The Beckmons and Hanleys are doing Saturday dinner and the Fowlers are doing Sunday breakfast. Everyone going helps prepare one of these meals. You should know what you signed up to help with when you signed up to come. You can check with your meal leader at the retreat for assignments. Also, please bring games, drinks, and snacks to share. If you have questions please call the church office or talk with someone else going."

Prayer Request Update - 10/27 - 6pm

Jamie Hyatt sent this message (edited) today, regarding her trip to OKC, to an eye specialist:  "I thought it might be easier to update everyone at one time about my visit to the eye clinic in OKC yesterday. I had several tests done, including a sonogram on my eye.  I have many things going on:
1. A very thick cataract on my right eye that they said they only see in 85 yr olds! My right eye is the one I have little vision in due to a damaged retina from birth, but if I do not remove the cataract soon, I will not have any vision left.
2. Nystagmus, which is a condition of the eye where my eyes "wonder" and it is hard for me to focus on things in front of me due to the movement of my eyes.
3. My vision to the side is much better than my vision straight ahead and that is why I turn my head to see things along with the fact that holding my head to the side helps slow the muscle movement in my eyes from the nystagmus.
After the cataract is removed (it may take 2 surgeries to get it all) they will start the surgeries to tie down the muscles in the back of my eyes to help hold my eyes in focus.
The right eye will never have normal vision, unless science has a wonderful breakthrough in the treatment, or replacement of the Retina, but at least maybe they are going to be able to help me see better than I am today!
Please keep me in your prayers as I travel back and forth to Oklahoma City and go through the surgeries.
Thanks everyone, you are all so special to me!"

Prayer Request Update - 10/24 - 8:56pm

Derald Bulls' sent this update on John Welch Jr. today:  "John is about the same. Chemo was scheduled to start last Wednesday, but after four hours at the chemo center, treatment was delayed until perhaps next week. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance for tests to see why his oxygen level was so low. The tests did not reveal any new developments and that was good news . (No bad news is good news!)  He now has a tank of oxygen at home. He's now at home getting ready to watch Alabama football."

Center few plays after their collision. No details on him."
