Simple Suppers

We are so blessed at LACOC, for so many reasons.
One of these reasons is the ministry of Simple Suppers.
Thank you to everyone on the S.S. teams that plans, sets up, preps, cooks and cleans up each week.
The fellowship at S.S. is amazing! Families and friends catching up on each other's lives.
If you haven't ever joined us... sign up this Sunday and join us next Wednesday night.
By the way... tonight's supper was AMAZING!!!

Update on Billy Icenhower 10/16

Shelia Icenhower sent this information: He is still in the hospital, but now in stable condition. They are waiting for pancreatic, liver and kidney function to improve in order to move forward with surgery to correct a pancreatic injury due to an endoscopic procedure performed over 2 weeks ago, as well as, the tumor on his bile duct. Thank you all for your support and prayers. It means more to Billy and the rest of us than you can imagine.

Update on Paul McClain -10/9

Paul had a rough night and morning. He is still doing dialysis. Waiting to be moved from ICU to a room. He was alert enough earlier today that he clasped his hands together and said a coherent prayer thanking God.  Please continue to keep this family in your prayers.

  • Donna McGee started her chemo treatments on Monday. She'll have a series of 12 over the next few weeks.
  • Sarah C. Smith had been in the hospital last week.  She was released from PRMC on Sunday.

Former member Jessica Harris-Brunson sent this message: Please add my Granny Elizabeth Elrod to the prayer list. Her lymphoma is back and has spread to her bones. She broke her hip and was having surgery. While in surgery this morning she had a heart attack.

Prayers requested for Paul McClain. He will be having the liver transplant surgery today at 4 pm.

  • Lloyd Usry had a heart cath this week. No stents. Everything else clear. Back to square one sort of. Will know more later today on how he is feeling. He was able to go home after a few hours of laying still.

  • Webber Woodall - The ECHO was "beautiful". The stress tests showed some abnormalities.  The ENT said the polyp showed to be inflammation and we shouldn't worry about it now.  Dr.Gibbs will study the tests and determine if he can go through the knee replacement.

Update on Paul McClain - 10/4

One of my co-workers is a neighbor to Paul and Valerie. She talked with Valerie and said that Paul didn't have a good night.  He will not leave the hospital until he gets a matched liver.  It can take as short as 24-48 hours or as long as a week.  It will come from anywhere in the U.S.

Update on Billy Icenhower - 10/4

Please continue to pray for Ken and Shelia Icenhower's son, Billy. He's in critical condition. 

Update on Lloyd Usry - 10/4

They only found some plaque on Lloyd's arteries. No stents. Everything else clear. Back to square one sort of. Will know more later today on how he is feeling. He was able to go homes after a few hours of laying still.

Paul has been moved to ICU in the Truett
Bldg. 

Paul was admitted to Baylor. They are running more tests all day today and then doctors will have a conference to determine if he can be put on a liver transplant list. Valerie, and all of the family ask that we please continue to pray!!!

Dr. Steve Marx has gone home and will continue to receive dialysis for a while. Continued prayers that his kidneys heal completely are appreciated.

Update on Nancy Partin 10/1

Nancy Partin is home and doing well. She did not have bypass surgery but had a minor stroke. Thanks for all the prayers!

Our Sympathy...

Mike and Linda Ervin's friend, Artie Clark, who we added to the prayer list, passed away, this morning at Medical City.  He had been diagnosed with leukemia.  Continued prayers for his wife, Linda & the family.  They are members of the Honey Grove Church of Christ.

Weekly Update - 9/30

During class time this morning Stephen Gerrald and Kyle Jones taught a combined adult class four new songs that we sang BEAUTIFULLY during worship.

  • Brad Francis is very ill complications from of diverticulitis.
  • Mitchell Hicks is at home after having hernia surgery at Baylor/Dallas this past Friday.
  • Donna McGee - Had the last radiation treatment this week and the port is OUT!
  • Nancy Partin Was transferred to a Ft. Worth hospital for bypass surgery. 
  • Webber Woodall is having a stress test tomorrow and will get the results on Wednesday. This will determine if he can have knee replacement. He'll also be seeing an ENT on Tuesday to get some answers about a one inch "polyp" that has shown up on the latest MRI.
  • Lloyd Usry is at home after being in Alliance Hospital in Durant this week.

Prayer Request - 9/26

Prayers requested for Lloyd Usry. He was admitted to Alliance Hospital in Durant yesterday evening after a Dr.'s appointment. He has not felt well for some time and had an abnormal EKG.

Prayers requested for Nancy Partin. Bill just called and said she is being transferred to a Ft. Worth hospital for bypass surgery. We will update as we have more information.

I just talked to former member Christine Henson this afternoon.  She asked for prayers for her and for Robert.
Robert's been sick the whole month of September and is now in the Texoma Medical Center in Denison.  He now has pneumonia and low sodium.  They've done a CT, but have no results on that yet.

Update on Louie Woodall - 9/25

Update on Louie Woodall:  Louie is feeling much better. Has a virus, similar to cold or stomach virus, but it settled around his heart. Should clear up in a few days. Meanwhile, no visitors because viruses are contagious!!!!
Marolyn also said he may get to go home tomorrow. She appreciates all the prayers and says God answers them!!!

Former member, Louie Woodall was taken to the hospital yesterday evening with chest pains. He was admitted and is in room 403. They are running tests and trying to decide whether to transfer him to Baylor. He and Marolyn would so appreciate your prayers.

OUR SYMPATHY is extended to Ray and Carol Murphy on the sudden passing of her son, Gary Loggains. 

CONGRATULATIONS:  James Ray and Kristy Rodgers and Jeff and Julie Rook are thrilled to announce the arrival of their granddaughter, Emily Elise, who was born on 9/11/18, weighing 6 pounds and 12 ounces, in Minnesota.  Emily's parents are Wes and Kate (Rodgers) Smith.
