Weekly Update - 12/19 - 2:58pm

Please keep the following in your prayers:
  • Johnny Nabors was dismissed from the hospital today! 
  • Kristy Baggett's great-grandmother passed away in Amarillo.  Please pray for their family in this time of loss and also for their safety as they travel.
  • Continue to remember Sherry Welch and her family, in the loss of her Mom, Hazel Cross.
  • Mike and Kathy Grigsby; He was taken to the hospital on Saturday, but returned home.  Kathy was to have another pacemaker inserted, but has bronchitis.
  • Lewis and Carole Anderson's cousin, Patricia Goolsby, had gallbladder surgery last Friday.  Also, their granddaughter, Grace, will be traveling with the Sulphur Springs High School band on a trip to Florida.  Pray for their safety.
  • Renee Crews' friend, Myca Whitten and her family, in the loss of a family member.
CONGRATULATIONS:  Curtis Garrett on his new job with the Paris Police Department.  He will now be the public information officer.  His job will entail: interaction with the media, crime prevention outreach, coordination with the Lamar County CrimeStoppers organization, and registration and compliance checks of sex offenders. He is also the homeland security officer for the department, with emphasis in emergency management.


Please sign up to fill a Christmas Basket.  We have 40 baskets left to be filled!!  The sign-up list for "Christmas Basket Volunteers" is on the table by the Welcome Center.  Baskets will be delivered on Wednesday, December 21.  If you would like to donate money for a basket, or if you have any questions, please contact Allison Hanley:  arb.hanley@gmail.com or call her at 903-227-7624.

PRAISE:  290 pairs of socks were donated for the Warm Feet Warm Hearts!  Those will be delivered this week!

HOLIDAY WORSHIP SCHEDULE:  Sunday, December 25th, worship will be at 10am.  No Bible classes or evening service.  The church office will be closed December 22-26th.

Please join Louie and Marolyn Woodall for a noon meal at their home on Christmas Day.  You may bring a covered dish or a game...or just bring yourself for an afternoon of eating and fellowship.

50th WEDDING CELEBRATION:  The children of Edward and Cheryl Bullard request the honor of your presence in celebration of their 50th Wedding Anniversary on December 31st, 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Lamar Avenue Church of Christ OutReach Center.  (No gifts, just the honor of your presence please.)

BRIDAL SHOWER:  You are cordially invited to a shower in honor of Brittany Twitty and Wendell Johnson, January 8th from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. at the building.  Selections are at:  Gene the Jeweler, WalMart, and Target.

Men's Sports League:  If you are interested in participating in either church league basketball or softball, please add your name, email address and phone number on the sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center, indicating which sports you are interested in playing.  You may also email Shannon Boyd at stboydpt@gmail.com.

SIMPLE SUPPER: This weeks' entree is Smoked Ham. Please donate at $2 per person. If you did not sign up on Sunday morning and you want to eat with us, please call the church office by noon on Tuesday.
