Shepherd Clusters

Doug Faires, on behalf of the elders, spoke to us this morning about the organization and goals of "Shepherd Clusters". He discussed the 5 areas that will be worked on.  (Synopsis of each point listed below.)
Our elders are concerned and responsible for the whole flock.  They aspire to insure that all members needs are attended to.
There will be cluster gatherings.  These are crucial to the program success, and they ask that your attendance be a priority.
These gatherings will be more of a sharing/prayer time.
These clusters will have 4 groups, broken down by the first letter of your last name:
1.  A-D - Lewis Anderson & Patrick Cannon
2.  E-K - Cleve Fendley & Kyle Jones
3.  L-R - Doug Faires & Jay Spencer
4.  S-Z - Wayne Kerby & Richard Peace

1)  Flock Management
Improve elder/member relationships, through visitation, prayer and bible study.  This will give them the chance to build a personal relationship with each member so that no one "falls through the cracks".
2)  Strength The Body:
Strengthen the community of believers and relationships with one another.  Accountability.  Become your "brother's keeper".
3)  Call To Commitment
Helping members become more involved and consider various ministry opportunities.
4)  Planning & DreamingWhere do we want LACOC to be in 5 years?  Or even 10 years?  What are we going to do between now and then?
5)  Crisis/Problems
Communication over difficult issues/decisions.  Encourage understanding and unity with disagreement.
The first cluster gathering will be Sunday night, February 26th, at 6pm.
