Cross Services

Sherry Welch's sister-in-law:  The gate of heaven has opened for Jennie Lenell (Davis) "Jeanie" Cross, as her battle to recover from catastrophic injuries suffered in a one-vehicle accident on June 15, 2018, has come to an end. Known as Winnie Pooh, Jennie, Jean, Mama Jean, or Jeanie, she died on July 7, 2018, at Baylor Scott & White Trauma Unit in Temple, Texas. A memorial service has been scheduled at the A&M Church of Christ, 2475 Earl Rudder Fwy S., College Station, Texas, on Friday, July 13 at 3:00 pm. A reception and visitation will follow the memorial service.Left to mourn Jeanie's absence are her husband of 55 years, Gary Jack Cross of Bryan TX; daughter, Lisa Cross and Victor Martinez; and son, Lane Cross and wife, Lisa Fry Cross; eight grandchildren whom she loved dearly, and 11 great-grandchildren who were the apple of her eye; a sister, Jettina (Tina) Hall; and sisters-in-law, Sherry Sue Welch and Marka Bennett & husband Norman Bennett; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a member of the church of Christ in Bryan TX.Other than Gary, her kids and grandkids, and all the extended family and dear friends, Jeanie loved God the most. She lived with kindness and goodness toward others, even offering love to the unlovable.Jeanie and Gary have been supporters of the Cornerstone Christian Academy, 3200 Cavitt Ave., Bryan TX 77801 for many years since grandson Jack Cross began his education there. She would be so honored if donations were made to that school, so many other children could benefit from Godly teachers and teaching.
