Weekly Update - 7/1


Welcome Dr. Randy and Loree Johns!!! We are so excited you are going to be working with us!!

OUR SYMPATHY:

  • Butch Mills passed away on June 20. His services were this past Monday. Please keep Betsy, Kristi, Keith and their families in your prayers.
  • Shelia Nabors, Johnny and Loretta Nabors sister-in-law, passed away this past week.  Her funeral service was on Friday.
  • Linda Strickland's brother, Wendell Willis Hamil, passed away last Wednesday.

CONGRATULATIONS:

  • Jean Anthony was able to be with us today!!
  • Christopher Hudson has been at Scout Camp this past week. They saw leadership abilities in him and asked him to be a staff member! We are so proud of you Chris!


PRAYER REQUESTS:
  • Allie Campbell - She has been in Children's/Plano Dallas for the last 2 weeks with viral meningitis.
  • Joel McGee - Health
  • Vickie Humprey will not be having the surgery she'd hoped for. She starts a new "cocktail" to hopefully shrink the cancer. It has spread to her liver.
  • Daisy Redding - Is at home recovering from knee surgery
  • Nancy Jones - Health
  • Bill Slawson - Health
  • Jean King - Health
  • Charlotte Grooms is doing lots better after her ankle surgery. 
  • Gail Clark - Continues to be in Medical City/Dallas.
  • Carol Murphy - Health
  • Jackie Helm - Lung cancer
  • Sarah Smith - Health
  • Chris Brown's cousin, Donna Brown,was diagnosed with Stage 4 Stromel cancer this past Wednesday and started chemo on Friday.
  • Cooper Gibson (local 7 year old) is now in rehab in Dallas, after suffering from a brain bleed. (Great nephew of Judy Gibson.)
  • Diane Maroschia is a friend of Judy Gibson's.  She has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. 
  • Helen Short (friend of Anita Roden) is experiencing health issues.
  • Paul Denney - Local architect - Health
  • Please keep our troops and first responders in your prayers for safety.

WEDDING SHOWER:  You are invited to a wedding shower for Kayla Prihoda, daughter of Chris and Rhonda Brown, on Sunday July 8th, at 1:30pm.  Selections are at Spangler's, Belk, Walmart and Amazon.

DON'T FORGET:  Our flags are in need of being replaced.  We want to keep them looking nice and flying proudly!  If you haven't already paid $10 to replace the flag you originally purchased, please do so ASAP!  You can give your money to Kim Hanley or Tanya Welch at the office.  Thanks!
JULY 4TH WEDNESDAY NIGHT:  LACOC will have a combined worship time with our Hispanic congregation.  Marcelino Rodriguez will be speaking.  Bring your favorite HOMEMADE ice cream to share following our worship time together.

MONDAY NIGHT MOVIE:  Make note of the change!  We will be showing "Where Hope Grows", at our next movie night on July 16th.  Movie will start at 6:45pm.

RAINBOW ROOM: All sizes and gender summer clothes.  PJ's, shorts and tennis shoes.

PANTRY NEEDS: Canned Meat and Crackers

SIMPLE SUPPER:  S.S. is taking a summer break.
