Prayer Request - 8/9

UPDATE ON HAYDEN PRUETT, FROM HIS MOM:  Today has been a rollercoaster. This morning as you know we were coming to Dallas for an appointment to start Hayden's next treatment. As we stopped for breakfast I noticed the white of Hayden's eyes seemed yellowed. After checking Hayden's blood work his liver levels had almost tripled, his white blood count went from 7K to 32K, his creatine level had increased and most of his electrolytes were too low. An x-ray was done of his chest and CT of his brain. The x-ray showed that he has fluid built up in his lung and by feeling his abdomen they could tell the tumors had increased in size from last week. It was after his chest x-ray that everything seemed to close in on us. We were asked to decide if we wanted to put him through the procedure and it possibly not work or let him go home to spend what time he had left with his family. After discussing the chest tube Hayden had almost decided home might be the better choice but then we were told it is possible he just has an infection and it isn't just the tumors. If it is just an infection we might be able to start new treatment. We were first under the impression the treatment was off the table and that we were just looking for options to make him more comfortable. We also had to decide if Hayden started to get worse did we want life support intervention. He and I decided for moderate intervention but not full life support. We are now praying and hoping that tomorrow's chest tube will give us answers. Hayden's CT was clear and after getting fluids and electrolytes he is now able to stay awake and seems to be functioning better overall. We still have a lot to consider and still don't know what this will mean as far as his care yet but right now we are just trying to enjoy the time we have, and trying to remain hopeful. Thank you all for prayers today and as soon as I know what the next step will be I will let you know...
Oh yeah he is going back on previous treatment because it was slowing the tumor growth some so hoping it will help until his body is able to handle the next treatment if it is an option. God bless!
