Weekly Update - 3/10

Thank you Randy for the message this morning "Jesus is Lord over Demons", with the text taken from Mark 5:1-20. (Or, as he said John Cannon called it..."The first case of deviled ham"! 😀)

I.    The Encounter (5:1-5)
II.   The Exorcist (5:6-13)
III.  The Explanation (5:14-17)
IV.  The Exhortation (5:18-20)

1.  Jesus was willing to cross cultural barriers to serve others.
2.  Jesus does not avoid the demoniac - he reaches out to the outcasts of his society.
3.  Jesus is willing to love the unlovable.
4.  Jesus valued human life.
5.  The man sees hope in Jesus

* LACOC is seen as a place of hope.
* LACOC is seen as a place where Jesus is.

Randy also talked to us about this celebratory year, for LACOC, as this is our 150th anniversary!
On Sunday night, April 28th, we'll have a special evening service out at Antioch Cemetery at Biardstown. This is the area where the first Lamar County Church of Christ was started.
On Sunday September 8th, we'll have our 150th celebration... "Roots and Wings".  There will be more details coming about this special Sunday.

OUR SYMPATHY is extending to Brian and Haley Richie in the loss of their baby girl, Blaire Elizabeth, just days from her due date. She was born and passed into the arms of Jesus on Friday morning.
