Weekly Update - 8/22 - 11:03pm

THOSE RESPONDING:
  • Loretta Nabors asked for prayers for strength to deal with her Mom's passing and for family issues.
  • Phyllis Giguere asked for prayers for her upcoming back surgery, which is scheduled this Friday morning at Baylor/Plano.


PRAYER REQUESTS:
  • Ed Bullard is at home, with strict orders and to with feet up! Getting up only to go to bathroom, bedroom or kitchen. Visits & phone calls are appreciated and welcomed! Pray for him & Cheryl.
  • Dianna Welch has an appointment on August 29th with a gyno-oncologist.  Please pray that the mass is not cancer.  She is also 1/2 way through the 2-a -day trips to the hospital for IV & oxygen therapy.
  • Mike Grigsby is improving, but still in CCU in an OKC hospital.  His speech is still slurred and he's a little confused.  He is recognizing people a little.  They are still in need of people to help unload trucks and trailers for their house here in Paris.
  • 11 year old Dustyn Jones went for a "back to school" eye checkup and a problem was found. He will be going to an eye specialist in Dallas.
  • Lewis & Carole Anderson's son, Heath, will be leaving on the 28th for a mission trip to Nepal for 13 days.  Most of that time, he will be without communication.  Carole also asked for prayers for her cousins Pat & Curbe Goolsby, for their health and family.
  • Sherry Welch's cousin, Lisa Cross, is in the hospital having tests.
  • Webber Woodall's uncle, Harold Grant from Cooper, has been diagnosed with liver cancer. They are starting a round of tests to find what course of treatment to take.
  • Brody Dyess, Jason & Sheridie's baby, will have tubes put in on Friday morning at PRMC.
  • Jan Jenkot, a former member at LACOC, was CareFlighted to a hospital in OKC.
  • Peggy Robinson's aunt, Jean Stanley-Huie, passed away this Friday morning in Dallas. (She was Jane Buster's only sister.) Her services were Sunday afternoon at 2pm at Arapaho Methodist Church in Richardson.
  • Local businessman, Garland Lamb, is having health issues. He's been to Dallas for testing and awaiting the results.
  • A friend of Dinah Border's, Terry Baker, has suffered another stroke.

SIMPLE SUPPER:  This wonderful ministry will reconvene on Wednesday, September 7th at 5:30pm in the OutReach Bldg.  There will be a Wednesday Meals reorganization lunch, Sunday, August 28th following morning worship.  Any former team members or new folks who are interested in this ministry are encouraged to attend. The food will be provided.   VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!!!
 
VALET MINISTRY: What a wonderful service this is! But, they need help! If you can help with this ministry, please check with any of the men at the door on Sunday morning.


 
PANTRY NEEDS: Toiletries
The Benevolence Ministry has been really busy lately. These are the items routinely stocked in the pantry, and can always be used: Any type of canned meat, canned vegetables, canned fruit, spaghetti & sauce peanut butter/jelly, macaroni/cheese, hot/cold cereal, cornbread mix, 1 lb pkgs of beans/rice and crackers.

 

BACKPACKS: Charlotte Grooms is collecting money or backpacks for children at Justiss Elementary again this year. Please give the items to Charlotte or place the backpacks in the nursery.

 

Please pray that there is relief from this intense heat and drought. Check on your friends and neighbors. Drink plenty of water!! STAY COOL!!

 

REMEMBER THOSE IN AFRICA...please pray that they receive food!
