Weekly Update - 11/6 - 8:22pm

Our sympathy is extended to Leston Maggard and family in the death of his brother Stanley. Funeral services are 2pm on Monday afternoon in Atoka, Oklahoma.
 
Please continue to remember the Abilene Christian University family as they mourn the loss of their fellow student, Anabel Reid. She died Friday of injuries from the one-vehicle bus accident that sent 16 people from ACU to area hospitals. Seven remain hospitalized, three in critical condition. They are in hospitals in Dallas, Abilene and San Angelo.
 
Thank you to Richard Baggett for bringing the video about Eastern European Missions. They are celebrating their 50th Anniversary on November 19th in Dallas.

  •  Lee McClain is at home recovering from surgery.
  • Alan Boyd is also at home recovering his surgery on Friday.
  • Sue Munday has been released from rehab and is at home.
  • Alvin Buchanan will have gallbladder surgery on Friday 11/11.
  • Brad Shelton was at church this morning. Great to see him after his heart surgery.
  • Qwyneth Kennedy (Mike Kennedy's Mom) is in Hospice at this time and only has weeks to live. The cancer has now spread to her liver.
  • Jennifer Hutchings (Donna McGee's sister) has had complications from a recent surgery.
  • Charles Siebert (Patrick Cannon's friend) has been diagnosed with cancer. He lives in the Abilene area.
  • Sue Shipman (Dinah Border's friend) has breast cancer.
  • Hazel Cross (Sherry Welch's Mom) is in lots of pain.
  • Curbe Goolsby (cousin of Lewis Anderson) is in bad health and getting worse. He can't walk very well now.
  • Elizabeth Melton (friend of Renee Crews) is in physical therapy.
  • Vannessa Bills (Sharon Thielman's friend) is continuing to recover from an automobile accident 2 years ago. She wants to be able to walk again.
  • Michelle Jenkins (co-worker of Lesa Bulls) is having issues with loss of her Mom, 2 weeks ago.
  • Tanya Welch asked for prayers for our college students. That they will have direction and peace in making decisions about their future. Please encourage them, each chance you can.
  • Jerry Savage (friend of Larry & Janet Christ) has Non-Hodgkins cancer. He is a preacher in South Dakota. His daughter attends Harding and will be getting married in December.
  • Please continue to remember the employees at Sara Lee, for their job situations and as they all find other jobs.

The Annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be served on Wednesday, November 16th. If you know someone that will not be having a Thanksgiving meal at their home, please invite them to come eat with us! There is a sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center for those who would like to come. There's also a sign-up sheet for those who are willing to make desserts for this meal.

SIMPLE SUPPER: This weeks' entree is Taco Soup. Please donate at least $2 per person. If you weren't able to sign-up on Sunday morning, and want to join us, call the church office by noon on Tuesday.

PANTRY NEEDS: Canned Meat
These are the items routinely stocked in the pantry, and can always be used: Any type of canned meat (tuna, chicken, Spam, Ham, Vienna sausage), canned vegetables, canned fruit, spaghetti and sauce peanut butter/jelly, macaroni/cheese, hot/cold cereal, cornbread mix, 1 lb pkgs of beans/rice and crackers.
