Weekly Update - 7/8 - 2:10pm

Thank you Patrick for the message about "Running the Christian Race" (from 1 Cor. 9).
~Winners are contenders.  There is a huge difference between contenders and pretenders.
A changed life and a home in heaven are our prizes!
~Winners are always in training!  Keep studying the Bible...live the life that God wants you to live.

New Member:  Justin McFadden was one of our graduates that will be going off to college in the fall, however, he would like to be considered a part of this church!

Responses:  April McClour went forward this morning asking for prayers for their family.  Jerry's work tools were stolen from his vehicle this past week. These are for his job. If you have any extra tools, that you don't need, I'm sure Jerry would love to have them.
  • Hugh Anthony welcomes visits at his home while he is recuperating. Please give him a call to make sure its a good time, then drop on by!  We have lots of shut-ins who would love visits...many in nursing homes too.  Take time to go visit or call.
  • Kevin and Stacey Wood's friend, 7 year old Shanee Adams (daughter of Steve and Shannon Adams) is having sinus surgery tomorrow (7/9) in Dallas.  Please pray for her and her family for a successful surgery and easy recovery.
  • Jenifer Cooper asked for prayers for her friends, the Gooding family, as they mourn the death of Kent this week.  Give them strength and peace.
  • Mike Marsters asked for prayers that he finds the right job for himself.
  • Renee Crews asked for prayers for Mike's uncle, Gary Melton.  He is having heart complications.  He's at home now, but still needs prayers.
  • Anna Zant is continuing to have health issues.
Ladies Day in Greenville:  Plans are in the making to attend the second annual Autumn Celebration of the Timeless Woman at Johnson Street Church of Christ on Saturday, September 15th. Registration is at 9:30 and lunch will be served the program. Author and speaker, Cassandra Miller will present "God Pass Me By". (Joanne Wood will be teaching a ladies class this fall based on Cassandra's book.) There is a sign up sheet posted on the ladies bulletin board.

KFC Parents: There are a few t-shirts left. If you'd like to purchase one, contact either Laura  Cannon or Matt Duren.
