Weekly Update - 10/26

Thank you Doug Faires for bringing our message today from the old hymn..."I Know Whom I Have Believed".  That old song teaches us about our faith and answers questions that anyone may have.
Patrick was the guest speaker at the MLK Church of Christ this morning, for their annual homecoming celebration.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Bobby Salter - has been released from the hospital to continue his recovery at home.
  • Judy Moore will be admitted to PRMC tomorrow and will have a heart cath on Wednesday.
  • It was great to see Joe Daniels at church this morning, after a long recovery from knee surgery!
  • Adrian Casey - cancer issues.
  • Kanyon Phillips (Jay & Gay Spencer's grandson) - physical therapy
  • Gene Stallings - Health
  • Charlotte Cannon - Broken foot
  • Jean O'Neal asked for prayers for her sister, who has dementia.  She also asked for prayers for Marcus Thompson for his health.
  • Curtis Garrett asked for prayers for daughter-in-law, Courtney Garrett, who has viral meningitis.
  • Donna Mosely - upcoming medical tests.
  • Doug Melton's friend, Michael Huggins, had stents placed in his heart last night.  
  • Halie Chambless - Health
  • Michael Vaughan, friend of Derald Bulls, 5 by-pass surgery on Wednesday.
  • Ella Chambers is in an ICU in Illinois.  Her grandson is attending PJC, his name is Trey Hoard.
  • Jillian (Usry) Ingram could use a not of encouragement while she is serving a sentence in Dayton, TX.  Please see info board for address.
  • Continue to pray for our missionaries all over the world.  Especially Hector Olguin and Javier Ortiz in Mexico, Brent and Jill Nichols in Brazil and David and Laurie VanderPool in Haiti.
TRUNK OR TREAT:  This Friday night at 6pm there will be HUNDREDS of children and their parents who will line up, out in our parking lot, to receive candy and a smile.  We're still in need of a couple of trunks for candy and we're also in need of more volunteers. Can YOU help us?  There is a sign-up sheet on the Welcome Center, or you can call the church office and have your name added. Candy is provided and you will have a GREAT time! 

FAMILY RETREAT:  Sign up now for the weekend of November 14th-16th at Beaver's Bend.  See the Welcome Center for a flyer.

COLLEGE CARE PACKAGES:  There are a list of names on the bulletin board of our college kids to send a care package to.  There is also a list of items that might help you with packing the box.  Check with Jared Baggett if you have any questions.

SIMPLE SUPPER:  This weeks' entree is Square Pizza.  Please donate at least $2 per person.  If you didn't get the chance to sign up this morning, and would like to join us, you may call the church office and have your name added to the list.
