Barbara Richards posted earlier: Charles wanted me to post an update on his
condition. Yesterday, Charles took a turn for the worst. He could no
longer feed himself and could no longer use his feet or hands to push
himself up to transfer to a wheelchair. His left leg has muscle spasms
every few seconds that causes his leg to bend.
Anyway, his surgery has been moved up to today. It will begin his surgery between 10 and noon and the surgery will last between 3 and 5 hours. They will reach his vertebrae by going in through the front of his neck. Because of the position of his neck, he may need a thoracic surgeon to crack his sternum to reach the point that will need to be addressed.
He is asking for prayers that the surgery will be successful and that he will have the return of the use of his hands and feet.
