Prayer Requests - 9/4 - 3:52pm

This Wednesday night is the start of:
  1. FALL CLASSES - Check the choices on the handout on the Welcome Center.
  2. THE RE-START OF SIMPLE SUPPERS - Supper will start at 5:15pm - $2 each.
  3. ICE CREAM SOCIAL - after classes (Bring your favorite freezer of ice cream!!
  4. BLOOD DRIVE - Must have your ID and have had a good meal.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS:  William and Barbara Campbell and Thomas and Dianna Ridge.

PRAYER REQUESTS:
  • Alan Boyd will have surgery on September 20th on his shoulder and elbow.  (This is similar to the surgery that was done on his foot.)  They will completely rework these and he should have 85% use!
  • Alvin Buchanan will have surgery this week, here in Paris.
  • Ed Bullard was readmitted to PRMC/S - Room 509.  Having problems with his blood thinners.
  • Phyllis Giguere was readmitted to Baylor/Plano yesterday with an infection in the site where the Dr. made incision in her abdomen.
  • Dianna Welch has 1 week left on the 2-a -day trips to the hospital for IV and oxygen therapy. BUT, follow-up tests show that infection may be in her other foot.  Prayers that other tests show otherwise.  She will be having more tests and 2nd opinion about masses in abdomen.
  • Mike Grigsby is in PRMC/S - Room 312.  He is conscious and can communicate by writing.  He's still seeing double.
  • Jean Gibson is recovering back at Springlake after suffering a hip socket out of place.
  • Ralph Poteet passed away suddenly this morning at his home here in Paris.  He is the husband of our co-worker, Kim, at First Federal.  Bright Holland Funeral Home is in charge of services.
  • Relatives of Tammy Broadway were at church this morning and asked that we prayer for her.  She is in PRMC/CCU with a staph infection.  Please pray that the Drs. have the wisdom and knowledge and that she have healing and the family has peace.
  • Richard Logan asked for prayers for his daughter, Sarah Shaffer.  That she has a safe pregnancy.
  • Lewis and Carole Anderson's son, Heath, is on a mission trip to Nepal for 13 days. They've had no communication since this past Thursday.  He will be home on Sept. 9th.  Please remember him in your prayers for a safe return! 
  • PRAISE:  Laura Cannon's dad, David Kelly, had tests done this week on his prostate cancer.  His PSA levels were DOWN!!!!
  • Jimmy Thielman states that his son, Jordan, is considering joining the Navy.  Be with him as he makes these important decisions.
  • Kristie Nutt asked for prayers for her friend, Emily Jones.  She is having lots of seizures and hopes to have surgery soon.
  • Remember the countries of Lybia and Syria.  For Peace.
SIMPLE SUPPER:  This wonderful ministry begins THIS week!  Entree is Tator-Tot Casserole.  Still only $2.  If you weren't able to sign-up on Sunday morning, and want to join us, call the church office by noon on Tuesday.
VALET MINISTRY: What a wonderful service this is! But, they need help! If you can help with this ministry, please check with any of the men at the door on Sunday morning. |
PANTRY NEEDS:  Peanut Butter and Jelly
The Benevolence Ministry has been really busy lately. These are the items routinely stocked in the pantry, and can always be used: Any type of canned meat, canned vegetables, canned fruit, spaghetti and sauce peanut butter/jelly, macaroni/cheese, hot/cold cereal, cornbread mix, 1 lb pkgs of beans/rice and crackers.
